Wellstar Imaging Services at Avalon Health Park

"Employee who helped me get checked in had me call the referring doctor to ask which pages my referrals were on, and because of that an entire procedure was not done because it seemed she didn't want to read the file and make sure everything was entered in right. I received an incomplete follow up due to this slip-up, and now have to take more time and money to get another scan done. I will, though, not be doing the scan at this facility. Unacceptable level of care from this employee. The techs, though, were genuinely a delight to work with, and were very kind and accommodating, and thorough with their explanations. The imaging discs were duplicated for one procedure, and combined for another. Unsure how this happened."

"Quite angry!!!! I arrived at the Wellstar Avalon Center at 8:45 AM this morning. My ultrasound was scheduled at 9:30 AM. I arrived on the 1st floor and they guided me to see the counter attendant, she checked the information and asked if someone called to talk to me? I said no. She said that you have to pay $49.10 + copay $35 for the ultrasound today. She said, because of insurance, you can save $49.10 by doing it tomorrow. I said it would take 1 hour for me to get here from home. I asked to save some money, and I will come tomorrow. She helped me reschedule to July 1st, 8:45 am, I then left the Center. Here comes the story. After I left, I went to Chick-fil-A, because I couldn't eat from midnight yesterday until now, without a drop of water. I just got my food, and a lady called and asked for me. I said yes, she said she was from Wellstar pre-registration, she asked for some information and I answered, she said you cancel today's registration, you owe $49.10. I said, I did not cancel the appointment. It was the staff that rescheduled, to help me save money (I told her about the morning). She was very impatient and ignored what I said, then shouted, "you didn't go today, you canceled the registration!" I said I had only left ten minutes ago. I asked her, where she was. She said that she was at the 2450 building. I said I haven't eaten or drank water. I'm going back now to check, and she yelled again! "No, you already cancelled it, come back tomorrow." Very, very rude!! I was already feeling very down, having fasted for 12 hours and driving for another hour. You said, I didn't come. I drove back to the Avalon center and found the morning service lady. I called back and spoke with the rude lady "Lauren", I said I would go back to the office and asked to speak with her. She then replied that she was working from home, The lady at the counter talked to her, and I found out that they themselves were not very clear about the charges. The lady at the counter said that when I registered, someone should have pre-registered me. Because of the improper internal work of Wellstar, I went for a two hour drive today and went home. Horrible!!"

"This facility is next to avalon, there's plenty of parking. The Staff from registration, receptionist(check-in) and the tech who did my CT scan were all very professional and courteous. They followed covid protocols and the facility is very nice."

"My PCP made a mammogram appt for me and the date doesn't work with my schedule. So, I called this location to change the date. I have now been waiting for 39 minutes and 22 secs for someone to pickup and speak to me. I'm not sure who is in charge of scheduling there, but you guys have a SERIOUS problem over there. Do better"
