"Hello, my name is Steve Utley and I am currently a resident to Genesis Salem Center. I arrived on 4/28/23 directly from surgery at Camden Clark Hospital in Parkersburg. I came here to not only get rehabilitation, but also to receive 3 PICC Line Infusions a day to stop the infection in my left knee. With that being said, I can't say enough about the good treatment I have received while staying here at Genesis Salem. The Nurses, the aides, the therapists and supportive staff have all been excellent in providing me care and answering my concerns and questions. I would also say that the Activities department crew is great at providing extracurricular activities for the residents to help break up the day to day monotony. Luckily, I will only have been here for about 2 months, but most of the residents are here for way longer, many for the rest of their lives. The day to day care we receive from the Nurses and CNA's is simply amazing. Especially the CNA's, whom I have watched each day giving care and love to the residents like they are their daughters or sons or brothers and sisters. I call them Saints because of the care they show. They food here is good, although some days are better than others. There are also a couple of courtyards where the residents get outside to enjoy the nice weather. All in all I would say and recommend Genesis Salem Center to any one who needs a place for rehabilitation or for a loved one who is need of long term care. I know that if I ever have the need for rehabilitation again or someone I love needs rehabilitation or long term care, I will recommend and call Genesis Salem Center. Steve Utley"

"Communication is lacking. Emails can go days without being answered. No backup plan for doing a Zoom, with a relative when the activity director is absent or out sick. On a positive note, the nursing staff always keeps me informed. It would be nice to only schedule so many conferences, for residence, on a particular day and not a mass mailing for more people than the team can possibly be able to hold conferences. By the time I receive my notification, in FL, I call the day I receive it, but there are no times left. My post card for a conference was posted February 20 2023. I received it March 1, 2023. Susan Fansler did work with me to schedule another day, a week later, however, there was only one time slot left. Thank you, Ingrid Raad Grubb"

"My father is currently a resident at Salem Center. The staff takes very good care of him. They are kind and considerate. His physical abilty has progressed because of the physical therapy and personal care he is receiving. The staff is encouraging and respectful of him. I am grateful that they have made both my father and my adjustment to a difficult situation easier than expected."
