"When we arrived at The Townhouse, our room door was unlocked. With help from another guest, we figured out that we didn't have a code to lock / enter the room. When I texted the owner, she immediately apologized and sent the code. Our room in the guesthouse was nice and the bed was very comfortable. However, the bathroom could fan was loud and needs to be replaced. The tub's shelves could use a good cleaning. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again."
"I ate my food before remembering to get a picture!! I had the squash casserole, boston butt, peas (not sure if they were field peas or black eyed peas. Tasted like field peas) and a fried chicken wing. Everything was very good! A little pricey for a restaurant in Buena Vista but we didn't mind because the food on the buffet was good and the service was the best! All in our party left satisfied and happy. I look forward to seafood Saturday buffet!!"
"This review is mostly in regards to the restaurant itself as the "hotel" issues will be addressed with Airbnb directly. My wife & I booked a room at The Town House for the night of September 2nd with the plan to check in, leave to go to Americus, & return for the night with check out being September 3rd. We arrived The Town House at 1:20p.m. as we planned to eat lunch their prior to checking in. The hours posted online AND on the door said that they close at 2p.m. We had already looked at the menu & knew what we wanted (the pimento cheese sandwich). When we arrived, the only person in the restaurant area was the hostess. My wife asked if we made it in time to eat, & she said she would check. At this point she wasn't necessarily "friendly" but also wasn't rude. She went to the kitchen & came back & said that we could eat, the asked if we wanted to eat from the lunch buffet or the menu. We stated the menu & she rolled her eyes as she gave them to us. My wife then asked if it was an issue for us to eat & she said "no, it's fine." She then went back to the kitchen & came back to tell us that the kitchen said that they weren't cooking off the menu at this point & that we could only eat from the buffet. We decided to leave at that point (it was ONLY 1:30p.m.) & my wife made the comment that we were suppose to be staying there but we would have to see if we were or not. We then left & found food elsewhere. We did end up returning to check into our room, which was a whole other mess. The room was not as advertised on Airbnb. There was a door in the room that led to the roof. It was not locked & when we opened it to see what was outside, we were shocked to find an open platform with no railing or barrier. There was a layer of dust on the mantle, the floor length mirror & bathroom mirror both had spots all over them (we checked to see if they could be wiped off, they can.) The bathroom was DISGUSTING. There was soap scum all around the bath tub (again, checked to make sure it wasn't just staining, & it wasn't. It came off with no issue so it was definitely laziness), there was toothpaste in the sink, & the floor was stained (I understand it's an older building & the staining is not the issue, just wanted to mention it.) It was very clear that whoever was in charge of cleaning the room dropped the ball. A side note that when we returned to the hotel after our evening plans, there was who we assumed was an employee (the office door was open when we entered the hotel) & I'm assuming a friend of hers sitting on the front porch of the home & there was a very strong odor of weed. Neither of us care if you do it, but maybe not on the front porch of a "boutique hotel." Overall super disappointed. We were both very excited to eat & stay at a new place & it seemed super convenient to have both in the same place. Unfortunately, it was a huge let down. We won't be returning (obviously) & won't be recommending The Town House to anyone."
"Don’t miss this Sunday buffet! Fried chicken like it’s supposed to taste! Everything is perfect: perfectly fried and tender and juicy! These are THE BEST Collard greens EVER. I’ve found them! Squash casserole, English peas, Mac n cheese. Sweet tea (I order half-n-half: half sweet and half unsweet) is perfect. This is not only worth a trip OUT OF YOUR WAY, it’s simply worth a trip. We stayed in the Inn (I’ll highly review this with the most comfortable beds) and had Clay’s famous pot roast last night and Sunday lunch buffet today! Everything is award winningly decorated in an old world elegant and nouveau Southern Charm. You just feel good walking in. Prices are on point portions are good and service is the finest that Georgia has to offer in hospitality. Y’all come on down!"
