"This is a good shelter, clean, friendly staff, and many animals to choose from to adopt. I adopted a zebra and a giraffe and one of the volunteers helped me cut a hole in the roof of my car so my giraffe could stick his long neck through. Their pet monkey was friendly and gave me one of his bananas."
"Very spacious and all animals we kept well. Only thing is they don't keep the animals long. Had wanted to see about a puppy. But they get shipped to Maine to be adopted. They hold animals for short time. So if looking for them call ahead is best thing. Very friendly this and caring people."
"It's a shame that, literally an hour before the scheduled closing time, absolutely no one was here. When my mom and I arrived there were two young women who had noticed that someone abandoned a pet carrier of five kittens who were maybe only four or five weeks old. I should also point out that through the glass doors I saw a dog freely wandering around the lobby. If this is a common occurance then, in my opinion, it is incredibly unprofessional."
"Use to love to go and look at the animals out there. But I volunteered out there as a job interview. And I did some work out there. Never got a call or anything to let me know anything. Not even we cant use u right now call. I got along with all the other employees out there and they wanted me to stay to help more but I was only allowed that 1 day. I just dont understand the ppl that want to work get throwed to the curb."
"We love the humane society. Have sponsored them in the past. HOWEVER, now they are sending the animals to a 'rescue in Michigan.' My wife saw a dog on Facebook as up for adoption. We arrived and were told NO, all the dogs and cats were going up north. No one could adopt. Disappointing!! I'm glad they go to another rescue, but it makes little sense when there are local families. If there is a time limit on these pets, they need to advertise that. Misleading and turning away your donors is a terrible idea."
