"We arrived around 5:30pm my wife didn’t get to go to her bed in the hallway in front of the ambulance doors until approximately 10:45pm. She sat in her hallway bed by the ambulance door ignored until approximately midnight. It is now 3am and we are still sitting waiting in her hallway bed by the ambulance door. With no answers and no hope of leaving. The only bright side to this terrible hospital was the young nurse who eventually came to help us and another who brought my wife a bar to eat. The check in staff CLEARLY has been desensitized to the pain of the people walking through the doors. Last I find it truly obnoxious for the entire nursings staff to be huddle around the desk next to a patient’s hallway bed by the ambulance door complaining about 2hrs of inconveniences when patients have been waiting for 10hrs and counting……. UPDATE It’s just the ER that’s horrible and doesn’t care about the people coming in. The 5th floor team could not have been better if they tried. Especially Sierra she is amazing and you would be lucky to have her watch over you or your loved ones."
"I am sure this is going on at every hospital but something has to change. No way can Americans continue to pay so much for healthcare and live at the ER. There is no explanation that someone can give why going to the ER at 1 and leaving at 9 is good. You have 5 (whatever you want to call them in the front) nurses or better yet money grabbers. Where as you need to invest in the doctors to be able sustain the level of people coming in. Then yet alone being denied to go back with my spouse when the damn pandemic is lifted is bit much when you let someone friend back in the back around 8 on 1/24/24…… explain that. Because I have a slight idea on why but I’m sure you don’t want to know why I believe race was a factor."
"I arrived at 11am it wasn’t until 10 pm that I was seen by anyone and they currently aren’t allowed me to leave while also not giving me a room it is currently 145 am the next day and I’m in a bed in the middle of the hall I was told I’d be getting a breathing treatment house ago and nobody had returned to check on me yet. If you have any other option do not come here u are better off staying home and giving yourself time to heal because it seems like no actual medicine is being practiced here"
"I try to find the good portions of a business before delving into the less good aspects of this institution. So without further hesitation: The Good: The triage staff in the emergency room were exceptionally kind to a wide variety of folks. Some of whom were very rude to them. They maintained order in what was a very busy emergency room. The Bad: Where do I begin? First, the eight plus hour wait in the emergency room. There were many folks in the room (an 89-year-old woman as well) who had been there for well over twelve hours. This poor woman was clearly suffering. She was suffering so much that she asked for the charge nurse. When the charge nurse came forward she was flippant and just told her she had to wait her turn. Fast forward to our emergency visit. My husband was in immense pain. After our eight hours in the waiting room they lead us to a chair in the hallway. There were several rooms that were empty and not in use. Knowing that my husband was in immense pain they still did not grant him access to one of the four rooms that I saw that were open. They also sat an elderly gentleman beside us who was clearly in distress because he had soiled himself. Not one person on the staff offered to help him clean himself up. He was clearly not mobile enough to make it to the restroom without assistance. The nurses were few and far between. The Doctor was harried and overworked. In total our ER visit was almost seventeen hours with no real answer other than a morphine shot and call your doctor. The American health care system is broken for sure. This hospital takes it to a whole different level of terrible. Stay away if you can."
