"The hiking is great in this area. You really should do your research for the first trip to the cave. There is more to this area than meets the eye. To see our adventures, subscribe to SIMPLE LIFE, Big Adventures on YouTube."
"Moderate to strenuous hike. Slippery, very muddy trail 75% of the hike. Hiking shoes with ankle support highly recommend as the trail is ankle twisting, slippery rocks and tree roots 60% of the time. ~380’ elevation change. 1 hour 15 minutes hike out. 1 hour 15 minutes hike back. 2.25 miles out. 2.25 miles back. Mostly looking down at your feet the whole time so you don’t fall rather than looking at the decent tree scenery. Several dangerous if not deadly places you can slip and fall off path/ hillside. I’ve hiked 30-40 trails around the country and this is easily the worst trail conditions I’ve hiked. The cave and river at the end are the reward but I wouldn’t recommend this hike to anyone except must-see cave loving people wanting a really bad trail to get there."
"One of the best hikes I've had in awhile. Quite, beautiful, and with the few challenges thrown in along the way. Obviously the reward is the beautiful cave."
"I am hiking and climbing a lot. So this trail is good for everyone, who is on the way. But if you go inside you need to be sure for some stuff, as lights, helmet, knee protection, good shoes. And don't do that alone. Take a company and enjoy your day. Tennessee, I love your nature!"
"This trail was slightly difficult for my 9 year old. Some fall risks are present because of some narrow trails along a cliff. The cave and water features were definitely worth the hike. We walked this in July, which was slightly hot, however the cave provided some much needed natural ac which allowed us to cool down and make the journey back to the trail entrance."
