WVU medicine

"My brief encounter with WVU Medicine was horrible! Prior to making an appt I asked if the company/business allowed the doctor to write for a specific anxiety medicine. I was told yes, since I have been on it and he was original prescriber when at a different facility, they did not for see a problem.. I arrive, go in and am told to have a seat they are at lunch ( front desk staff is at lunch). Once their lunch was over the very nice receptionist checked me in. I was taken back quickly at that point and as the nurse and I went over my medicines she says you may have a problem. Sure enough when the Dr comes in he says, " WVU doesn't allow long term prescribing only acute situations, like if someone dies." The only reason I gave the facility 2 ⭐ is because the staff was nice. Otherwise I would not recommend this facility to anyone. Train your staff, lock the doors if your closed. Don't let patients sit there listening to personal conversations . I will not and can not in good conscience recommend this facility even though the primary care Dr is an amazing doctor. I am disappointed in WVU Medicine, that they do not leave it up to physicians. There are circumstances where people genetically proven can not take other medicine yet you dictate to your doctor what he can NOT prescribe. I find having one rule for many different circumstances absurd ! Shame on you WVU Medicine."
