"Super impressed with pine trees and saw many woodpeckers. We're I am from in Kentucky pine trees are sparse. It was a real treat to hike through pines and view colonies of woodpeckers. Park Ranger was extremely knowledgeable and helpful to us and gave us tips on trails. We will be returning and are very excited to stay in the area! This park is peaceful and full of beauty. In Kentucky many of the parks are very crowded, full of trash, and overused. It was great for a change to experience something different and really makes me appreciate the diversity and milder climate in georgia! Thanks!!"
"Visitor center displays were ok. The ranger we talked to was not very helpful in answering questions. He could definitely use more training on being courteous to visitors. Wildlife drive completely unremarkable."
"I've been visiting here for so many years. From hunting to walking and fishing. Carolynn? Is always so nice. She is truly one of a kind. She is wonderful person. The road are always well maintained. It's a very beautiful place with beautiful land."
"Great limited availability quota deer and turkey hunts here. Paper application process is time consuming and risky if you try to mail in paperwork. Best bet is to visit in person to fill out application and deliver payment. Once you get in it is so worth it. Big bodied Georgia deer and opportunities to see the endangered red cockaded woodpeckers. With 35,000 acres adjacent to the Oconee National Forest there is plenty of space for any hunter who draws here."
