"This is Georgia's oldest state park. With that being said, it may explain why the sites are somewhat close together. We found that the road going to the campground and the camp sites was very narrow and I think it could get a little close if you happen to have somebody coming from the other direction. The historic house on the property, Idlewilde, is absolutely gorgeous!"
"Our first stop of our RV adventure is Indian Springs State Park in Georgia. Our campsite is surrounded by trees showing their last fall colors before winter. Our site is perfectly level for our 20-foot Travel Trailer, but I noticed the larger rigs have many leveling blocks. There is plenty of space between sites, and I love that each site has a picnic table, fire pit, and metal lantern pole partially enclosed in a split log fence. Hiking is our thing, and the 6.5-mile out-and-back trail that skirts the lake is beautiful. Being the oldest state park in Georgia, there are many old homes to explore and a museum. You can also partake of the water from Indian Springs, which is said to have healing powers."
"Great experience all around. Cottage was top notch, our group had big dinners there each night. Park is well maintained with many hiking trails. Nearby animal refuge is cool, and they have another series of hiking trails there. Lake has more options for fun and activities. Lot of local history going back to the 1800s. We will return in the spring."
"Very nice. Very relaxing. Nice folks running the park. The only not so good thing is the bathrooms. While they were mostly clean they are very outdated and need to have a good upgrade. The old cemetery was a plus for us. I love old cemeteries. This one had some of the oldest graves we've ever seen."
"It's been years since we have been here. We were so happy to see water flowing over the rocks. Indian Springs is a great place to go camping. They have over 350 camping sites. There is a nice lake that is 105 acres in size. You can rent canoes, kayaks, and pontoon boats. You can also swim or fish in the lake. There are plenty of places to hike there as well. There is also an 18-hole miniature golf course there that they charge to use."
