Reviews of Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta Duluth/Gwinnett Place
"Nice hotel to stay. Rooms are clean. Shower was neat and clean. I highly recommend to everyone to stay here. I stayed here for 2 nights and i am happy to select this hotel for my stay."
"This hotel ruin my birthday. My family and I went there to celebrate my birthday. It was a nightmare . The walls were plain no pictures or decorations. It was totally different from what we saw on their website. There were nothing that says this hotel was under renovation. In fact they lied and said their pool was working. And that the dining room were serving dinner. There was nothing to eat or drinks besides snacks. I brought clothes to have my picture taken for my birthday. The walls were bare no pictures on the wall no background or sceneries. The place was horrible looking. From our windows we were looking at pure dirt, no flowers or shrubs. Nothing just pure dirt outside our windows. The interior of the building were grey and white. Not one picture frame were in the wall. I asked for a refund and I am still waiting to be refunded. Because I purchased my tickets from Expedia. My family purchased through the hotel and didn’t receive a refund. Our night was ruined , we left and went home . Also their advertisement were misleading . The fact that they showed pictures of beautiful pictures and sceneries of beautiful bed covers in colors. And brightly decorated room, and that was not the case . I couldn’t sleep or even sit there Sadly , they lied to us. I hope they will refund my daughter her $160 dollars, because breakfast was included for two . I have be taking trips and have stayed at different hotels but this was my worst experience."
"Was there beginning of Jan 2024, it's middle of renovation. The room is totally new remodel, very nice and fresh clean. Front desk staff (he)was so nice. It's close by the Asian Town. Parking lot looks danger (arrived at midnight) but wasn't, we were safe."
"The hotel is in the middle of renovations. The cable TV channels did not work, I did basic troubleshooting on my own and couldn't get it to work. Phoned the front desk for help and they sent someone up who did the same troubleshooting I had done, but did it 4 times and got the same result, nothing. We were offered a different room, and they couldn't be sure the TV would work in that room either, so we declined to move. Location is good in Korea town, but even if you are just looking for a bed, there are better options with better service, and working TVs I imagine."
"This was not a good stay for me. In fact I didn't stay and canceled the stay for myself and my coworker. We had to use the back door to get to our rooms. The parking lot was not secure. As I was walking up to the back door and getting my key out, two guys pulled up to the sidewalk in a junker truck and sat there. I had no idea what they were doing; I hurriedly found my key and got inside. The hallways were dim and not well-lit. My first impression of the room was old, dark, and dingy—only one small light on, not inviting. The first thing I did was wash my hands - no soap, so I used the body wash in the shower. Nothing was on the counter, just a bare counter, not like pictured in the photos online. I noticed there were splatters of something on the wall near the sink. I notice the walls are dirty and the lock on the adjoining room door is rusty. I was not comfortable witht the adjoining rooms. Pretty much instantly the lining of my nose started to flare up (like when dust is stirred up), so I called the front desk because I thought it was a pet room. Apparently it’s a pet free hotel. So I started my routine inspection of the room as I do at ANY hotel. Push back the pillows and on the box spring cover at the top right of the bed (didn't even have to move the mattress) there was a reddish brown stain maybe four inches in size; as I looked at the head board there are splatters of something, I slightly push the nightstand to the side and it looks as though it has never been vacuumed. I lift the mattress to look for bed bugs, all clear. I make my way over to the other side of the bed and slightly lift the mattress and that’s where I found a bloody tampon. Disgusting. This should have been easily found by housekeeping when changing the sheets. I instantly called the front desk, and they asked me to come back to the desk for another room. As I left the back entrance, some random guy popped out of the bushes. Didn’t feel safe. Robin at the front desk was sweet, caring, and concerned; she was apologetic and got me another room immediately. I went to that room, and as I carefully opened the door, the room was dark again, and a man was speaking loudly. I thought I was opening the door to an occupied room. As it turned out the TV was on. Creepy. At that point I didn't feel comfortable staying there. I called my coworker and she said her room smelled like a previous smoking room and was worried she would smell like the room."
