Reviews of Augusta Marriott at the Convention Center
"After a stressful year at work, my wife and I took a 4 day mini vacation to Augusta and stayed at the Marriott at the convention center (on the river). The hotel was elegant and spotless and the restaurant/bar the same. The service across the board was professional, cheerful and very helpful. I highly recommend this hotel."
"I had a rather sub par experience here, starting off, myself and coworker had to wait an hour or so to get our rooms once we arrived, once I got my room key I had to walk through a wet parking garage to the Marriott suites building I was staying in. The room had dirty towels and the hallways were quite loud, My coworker had to change rooms a couple times due to noise from hotel construction. Parking was a little strange as well and not convenient like most hotels. The service at this hotel wasn’t great and after having to call the hotel a couple times for a receipt they were quite rude and short with me over the phone"
"The room was fine (we had a standard king). I wish it was still standard to provide a microwave. However, everything was nice and clean. The bed was very comfortable and the AC worked well. You don’t expect much more in hotels these days, right? The cafe with Starbucks was unfortunately closed until January 8th. We weren’t told this upon check in. I discovered it this morning after venturing downstairs looking for a decent cup of coffee. What happened to the days of complimentary coffee in the hotel lounge/lobby? Yes, I know you all provide some mediocre coffee in the rooms, but it wouldn’t be too much to provide some fresh coffee. If smaller hotels can still afford continental breakfasts, why can’t Marriot at least give coffee? My guess is they want us to pay for their high priced Starbucks (which again, wasn’t even open) or go to the hotel restaurants. I didn’t try the restaurant, as the prices were way too high. This isn’t a 5 star hotel, cmon. A reasonable breakfast option would’ve been nice. Parking was easy, convenient and safe. I liked having the covered garage as an option. The front desk staff was also very nice and helpful. Overall, I would probably stay again if needed. It’s in a convenient location. The riverwalk was a nice touch next door. But they don’t offer much in terms of “extras” for guests."
"Worst Marriott I've ever stayed in. Put me on a floor with construction going on. Impossible to get any sleep. A.c. hardly works rooms are hot and muggy. 20 year old tiny LG television . Staff is rude and not helpful at all. I guess Marriott no longer offers a nice place to stay. Nothing like it once was. This place needs new owners"
"This is the WORST Marriott I have stayed in. First, the staff is rude and lack any customer service. I did not have hot water the first morning of my stay and when I brought it up to the staff at the front desk, they were not apologetic at all. They said they would have their engineers on it and when I got back to my room after 12 hours at work, I still didn't have hot water. When I asked to speak to the manager, I had to wait 10 mins for him to make time for me. Then I had to move to another room and it had a broken shower head. The fitness center did not have towels and when I asked the front desk, they said they would take care of it. The next day, again no towel. Poor customer service and no management oversight!"
