"Many different areas to fish and clearly marked with types of fish in each lake. Some have access right to the pond/lake , others have fairly short trails to get to them. Well.worth a visit."
"This place is nature at its best. Beautiful for pictures and to take kids. Is free to drive through the place but if you want to get out and take pictures just buy a fishing license for the day. Definitely a place that is worth sponsoring. Specially on a week day."
"Come out to the shooting range for the first time. Very nice facility and friendly staff. We enjoyed the new electronic targets! Definitely will be returning!"
"Full disclosure I work here now, but have been coming for years. Hiking, fishing, hunting, teacher workshops, outdoor women conferences etc. I’m a realistic naturalist and Charlie’s message of that balance is felt through the location and the programs. When I say work is a pleasure, it truly is."
"Charlie Elliott is a great resource for middle Georgia outdoors people. It has multiple stocked lakes for fishing, trails, and a shooting and archery area. It has great facilities around the area, but it seems to not have enough staff to keep things clean. The bathrooms I visited were not clean and the campground was disgusting. I cleaned a kitchen garbage bag full of trash from my campsite. The campground is primitive. When I visited in the summer of 2021, there was no water, picnic tables or lamp posts. Just fire rings. That said, the sites were quite large and we had a great time. I attended the Fish'n'Learn program in April 2022 and stayed at the lodge. The lodge was similar to the newer state park lodges. It has a beautiful dining room with great food. The rooms are comfortable with two to three beds, and all rooms come with a private bathroom with shower. Our beds had a plastic wrap over the mattress, in case children have an accident, and it was a minor nuisance. The rooms done have TV's and fridges, but there was a fridge to use in the conference hall. The Fish'n'Learn program was top notch and we received lots of private attention and everyone was super nice. The kids had a great time, and so did the parents."
