"For years I’ve frequented this park and Shoal Creek Park I, which was where my children played baseball when they were little. Shoal Creek II was a decent park; however, I’m very disappointed and disgusted with Dekalb County parks & recreation and what’s not being done with my tax dollars that are to support the public community facilities and places such as the park. Dekalb county does not keep the grass cut nor does it make sufficient rounds to ensure the grounds are well kept and trash is removed from the park and pavilion area. I visited 7/9/23 for a family fun event and the grass was as tall as my 3 year old granddaughter. The kids were not able to play kickball long or other games on the grass because of the bees gravitating to the flowers growing on the tall grass. Understanding that bees are important to the ecosystem, healthy families are too! Dekalb county parks & recreation should do a better job of the upkeep on the parks as taxpayers dollars are not returned to taxpayers when services aren’t rendered. This is not the case with parks in Cobb, Douglas, Paulding, Henry, or Cherokee counties. Even Fulton county cuts the grass in its parks."
"This park needs to be tore down the playground is tore up dirty it's falling apart and the bathroom is beyond nasty ewwwwwwww been there yesterday will never go back it was horrible!!!!!"
"I feel safe here, I get my walks in and sometimes just come here to clear my head"
"Once a year LIFE LINE provides free pet care for dogs and cats at this location. The lines were long but they brought in extra staff & vans & stayed overtime until every pet was seen and treated. Great weather. Chip implants, spaying & neutering. Free cat & dog food samples. The humans also had hot dogs, chips & sodas or water. Great DeKalb County facility. But people were coming from outside DeKalb, which might have been a cause of the huge turnout. Please donate to Life Line!"
"Broken glass, condoms, trash everywhere. Broken windows on playground are dangerous to kids. Tons of open grass space and nice amount if picnic tables are great but wish they could clean the place up a bit."
