Vandergriff Park 1414 Gadd Road, Chattanooga, TN 37343

"Nice park but needs some TLC. A slide, water fountain and walking path to play equipment have been broken for close to 2 yrs. The walking path are just poles in the ground now and some equipment is rusted. (pictures attached). The bathrooms don't have a changing table. As for the playground it's nice. Plenty of space to play and separated into 3 play areas for different ages. In the summer from noon to 4ish. It's hot hot, no shade, be prepared with sunscreen and water since the water fountain is broken. The grounds are well kept. Always mowed, grass never gets too high and out of control. Gazebo is first come first serve, plenty of tables for events. There is a track around the park, nice for kids to ride their bikes, walking dogs, etc."

"Multiple playgrounds fire multiple ages, lots of swings, walking path, multiple seating areas and trash containers, functional and clean bathrooms. About as good as a playground park gets."

"This is the playground of my childhood. They do an amazing job with the upkeep on this place. Was honestly one of my favorite places to go as a kid. They have a walking track for the adults to use while the kids are playing, a large pavilion, and plenty of places to sit. Doesn't cost anything to park and enjoy."

"I think Vandergriff Park is an incredible place for kids to play. There is a great selection of playground equipment that varies in age range. It’s all separated in a way that allows kids to run around without being on top of each other. My only problem (and my biggest problem) is that everything is rusty and sharp. A lot of the rubber coating is peeling off and exposing flaking, rusty, sharp(at parts) metal. This would be a 5 star playground if they would update the rubber coating. That being said, I do still take my daughter here because she loves it. I just pray for the best."
