"Beautiful scenery, easy trek down to Hawks Nest Lake and back up to the parking, lots of benches along the trail. There is a road that goes to the bottom for people with mobility issues who may only want to walk down the hill but ride back up it."
"Gorgeous waterfalls, The trek to the base is short and a little treacherous, but not as bad as the parking spot."
"Completely OFF THE BEATEN PATH! Awesome waterfalls and a thrill ride wrapped up into one wonderful package! Beautiful series of small falls leading up to a larger side-by-side set. These falls descend into a refreshing pool before flowing further down the river. (Some were swimming!) Lots of butterflies nestled into the small little pools on the rocks, drinking up the muddied water! Roads to get here are very narrow, winding, and paved most of the way. A bit of an adventure on its own as you try to share this almost one lane road with oncoming traffic, through blind curves and downgrades! Small pull-off areas, fitting one vehicle, can be found along the river near the falls. There is a walking path that crosses the river, offering benches for viewing. Absolutely worth the experience! *We stopped at the Swiftwater General store in Ames on the way out. The staff at this little place were so friendly and appreciative. They have a small cafe as well as conveniences."
"This series of falls is just off the reasonably short and easily walkable Ansted Rail Trail that’s just under two miles long. It’s about midway on the trial and makes for a beautiful stopping point to take in the beauty of West Virginia’s nature. The upper part of the falls is made up of huge rock formations that make for a dramatic backdrop to the lush greenery surrounding it. Pro tip - the falls are in close proximity of the old Mill Creek Colliery Co Mine ruins which are worth checking out while you’re hiking the trail as well."
"No official way to park and enjoy this beautiful falls for people with accessibility needs but you can enjoy it while driving by slowly. Alternately, it is only a half hr walk from the trail head. Exercise caution during rain /bad weather. Absolutely amazing waterfalls and cascades in the lower section."
