"I did the "Fall Run" on the Gauley, when water levels are very fast, Rapids are huge, and the river is very high. It is not a good trip for beginners, but for people with experience, it is lots of fun, and a bit scary. It is the toughest River I've ever rafted. We used Ace Adventures for our trip."
"Went camping for a few nights. Nice camping area and beautiful hiking trails. Swimming was a refreshing way to cool of. Don't forget your sunscreen. I did and my back and shoulders got burnt from the swimming without it. Stay safe and respect our planet.."
"I've rafted on the upper and lower Gauley River for twelve years now. It's an amazing River and also has a nickname of "Beast of the East" regarding the challenge of rafting and kayaking. This officially became a US national Park just a few years ago. Definitely a beautiful place to visit during early fall. Lots to do and see in the area. I've always stayed with a company called adventures on the gorge which is a recreation and rafting outfitter as well as lodging and other activities like ziplining. Nearly every year they have something new or have upgraded part of their facility which is really nice to see them invest the money each year. If you've never been I highly recommend. If the upper and lower Gauley sound a bit too intense you can also raft or kayak on the New River which is far more mild."
"Gorgeous! Just amazing! Great hiking and nature viewing. This is a popular rafting area and it looks like so much fun!"
"Came here to see some waterfalls. Started on the North Bank and eventually made it to the South Bank and wasn't disappointed. Fairly easy to find and it helps if you have a 4 wheel drive, as some of these roads are in rough shape. Didn't get to see all the waterfalls, but had a great time."
