Brookse’s Bar and Grill

"There was 1 poor lady running the bar as well as waiting tables. She told us it was only her and the cook. There were 2 tables filled with 8 patrons, 4 people at the bar, and 2 take-out orders during our 1+ hour visit. It took 45 minutes from time of order to get 1 burger+ fries and 1 quesadilla. The wait would have been worth it had the food been good. The fries came out cold, no silverware was offered for the quesadilla, drink refills were requested when the food arrived but came out as we were finishing our meal. I asked the fries to be removed from the bill, the burger ran through me (thank goodness we live 10 minutes away). We were not satisfied with our meal. This was our first visit and expected more based upon reviews. We have been waiting for them to get the wrinkles ironed out after their opening many months ago. We used to frequent the same restaurant weekly under the previous owner. Maybe it was just a bad day. There was not a Manager on duty to raise our concerns with. Only the waitress and cook. "First time to Brookse's and after today's experience I would definitely come back! Food and atmosphere were very good. Service was excellent! We sat out on the back patio and it was very nice. Good view of the river, very nice wooden tables and chairs and the fans produced a comfortable breeze. It's nice to have another option in Winfield to eat. I definitely recommend stopping by Brookse's Bar and Grill and trying it for yourself! I had the Brookse Burger with tots. Very good!"

"The service and food are great. They have a kids' menu and are family-friendly on Sun afternoon. The inside is bright, and even though I'd say it is more bar than grill, it's still family friendly. We ate outside and it was shaded, with fans and comfortable wood furniture. Our food was hot, good portions and delicious. I highly recommend Brookse's, and I'm glad we gave this place a chance!"

"Heather was amazing with service! Right on the money! We ordered a few wraps and cheese balls! Yummy! Great wings! They offer outdoor seating and live music on some days. Close to interstate. Full bar available & a jukebox."
