"I stayed here a couple years ago and it was a nice place, but when I went to check in this past weekend, it was a nightmare. The young man working the desk was rude, and accused me of lying and said he was going to charge me $30.00 for lying. He said when the manager got there he had the right to charge me $150.00 and kick me out too, when he got there at 7:00pm. I didn’t know what to do, so we decided to leave the hotel and when we got back to get our bags, he was kicking out 2 other families, because a little girl was singing in the halls. We was in town for my son’s wrestling tournament, which we just ended up going home, because we did not have a hotel. I would never stay at this hotel again and they just make things up to charge your card extra charges, so I would be careful and check your account. Good luck with the younger guy, he is the one that accuses people of doing false things and then charges your card for these false allegations he makes up."
"Awesome rooms! wonderful price! And top it off good breakfast! Close to everything.. Ken was super polite and helped me out.. I greatly appreciate it.."
"Very clean.nice indoor pool. Personal was helpful and pleasant. Rooms are a little small, and hotel a little hard to get into and out of. But over all I would stay again have been there before."
"The location is close to everything around and that is the only good thing. We called over a week ahead of time to see if we could have a handicap accessable room; they said it is was fine. They had no note of this when we got there and still said it was fine until after we had been handed the keys to the room and she said the handicapped room was only for one person. The original reservation was for three... We got a regular room to say the least. The room was visibly worn, no fan in the bathroom, nore are you able to open the window so the room is musty. The first morning we were there (there for two nights) a house keeper knocked on the door and came in to see if we were checking out today, we said no, she then took the (not full) trash from under the sink and one dirty towel and never came back. Not sure what was going on there. The coffee that is in the breakfast area was FULL of grounds on the second morning but other than that breakfast was fine. Wouldn't recommend at all."
"Let me start by saying I'm a Diamond member and have stayed at literally hundreds of Choice Hotels over the last decade. I have stayed at the best (Cross Lanes WV, and the M Resort in Las Vegas) and have stayed at the worst (Yakima Washington). I only write reviews for the best and the worst. I have stayed at this hotel several times and never had enough complaints to prompt me writing a review. While some of these complaints are minor, when taken together it adds up to a disappointing stay. Here goes. The Room: housekeeping actually left a gratuity envelope ("HOUSE KIPING," I usually tip but not today), room was hot and stuffy upon arrival, window screen against wall next to window and hidden by table, same with wind flow hood for AC which was under the table, the table lamp was unplugged, a Daddy Longlegs in the tub, rusty hinges and tile defects in bathroom, bedsheets loose and bed not made well (wondered if sheets were changed), only one arm cover on the armchair (thought that was wierd), and the bath towels were thread bare. Hallway was warm and stuffy so apparently not air conditioned. Breakfast Room: ample counter space but definitely not logically organized, selection good but not great, tables not clean, the fruit in the bowls were FAKE! (really?), God bless the front desk person who kept up best she could with several things running out halfway through (hats off to her!), and finally this hotel needs someone dedicated to breakfast for at least until 8am (cost of about $30?). When I arrived the owner (I assume) appeared to be arguing with a guest about a room charge. We didn't bring our therapy dog with us this time, but I fear we would have been disallowed from having her with us. I've got to wonder if the hotel has changed hands because this is certainly a step down from the first time (of several) I stayed here years ago. We are local and will be staying at the Comfort Suites in Mineral Wells or the Sleep Inn off Emerson Avenue (next to I-77) in the future."
