"Steak n Shake is such a cold place now that you really have no interaction with employees now. You only see them when they hand you your tray. You purchase using kiosks, have to scan a barcode to get drinks from the soda machine. I get that they didn’t want to raise their prices and they found a way to do it. If you use the drive thru at least there is interaction with someone. The food is still pretty good, but not much for friendly faces"

"The overall experience is really poor. The employees where great, but havinng to order on machines with no option for ordering in person, is lame. You have to scan your receipts to get a drink, and half the time the machine won't scan, or times out before you have a chance to get ice, and fill your drink."

"Ordered two burger meals both burgers were still red inside!!! Did not put on the requested toppings! This is a ridiculous place to eat especially when their meat isn't cooked! They have no table service and tables they do have weren't clean! Do not recommend!"

"Pretty on par with what you’d expect from a Steak & Shake—food is great, lots of open seating, self service soda machine, orders called out over the mic when ready. The thing that stuck out to us at this particular location was the staff! The young woman at the counter was very welcoming (we used the self service machine, but she made sure we were good) and the woman out on the floor, cleaning, was very talkative. She asked us where we were from, how our trip was going, and just generally made us feel very welcomed. It was nice because we’d been driving for 8 hours already. This location is right off a major highway, so it seems they get primarily thru traffic."

"This was my first time at a Steak n Shake with the self service kiosks and I loved it! The only qualm I ever had with the chain has always been the slow service and this completely solved the issue. The food was amazing. The restaurant was clean. I wish I didn't live an hour away."
