"Rotating selection of beer specials by the glass or pitcher. Had the Carolina BBQ wings. Cooked well and had a good flavor. Update 2/1/2024 beer and pitcher specials have fallen off the menu. Still good food, had the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich but was able to switch up the sauce."
"Haven’t been to this spot in about 7 years, but it’s safe to say that the food is still good. I had the double southwestern burger and it was a lot better than I anticipated. Cooked to a perfect medium and very flavorful. Got to watch some football too so that’s always a good thing. This is a cool spot to chill and relax and it’s very affordable. 3 entrees and 2 drinks ran about 50.00. I’d eat here again on my next visit to SC for sure"
"I haven't eaten here in years, and now I remember why. I came in on a Saturday night with a party of 7, 30 minute wait which was to be expected. Took a while for our server to show up and she seemed... tired. Took forever to get drinks, had to ask for refills repeatedly throughout the meal. Food finally arrived and was bland or undercooked. I had the brisket French dip and was really excited but barely ate it because it was so bland. My oldest son had chicken tenders that were nearly pink, and my youngest had a patty melt, the toast was so hard it scraped the roof of his mouth. The manager was kind enough to comp those meals because we hardly touched them and our dessert. Onion straws and donuts were good but for a $150 bill I expected better service and food. I do not plan to return."
"Picked this restaurant because it was next to our hotel. Was pleasantly surprised as the food and service were excellent. Has the Pub Burger and my friend had the Cobb salad. Both were delicious. Burger was juicy and the seasoned fries were hot and crispy. My friend said it was the best Cobb salad she’s ever had. Didn’t get our waitress’s name but she took great care of us."
"Carolina Ale House at 277 Columbiana Dr. in Columbia, SC, was an absolute delight from start to finish. We began our culinary journey with two fantastic appetizers: the beer-battered cheese curds and the Crystal Coast shrimp. The beer-battered cheese curds were a revelation. Crispy, golden, and irresistibly cheesy, they set the bar high for the rest of our meal. These curds were the perfect combination of crunchy and gooey, making them an instant favorite. On the other hand, the Crystal Coast shrimp was fresh and flavorful. The shrimp were cooked to perfection, tender and succulent, and served with just the right amount of seasoning to highlight their natural taste. These appetizers were a testament to the culinary excellence at Carolina Ale House. The quality of the ingredients and the skill in preparation shone through in every bite. We knew we were in for a treat, and the rest of our meal did not disappoint. Our experience was made even more enjoyable by the attentive and friendly staff, who ensured that we had everything we needed. The ambiance was welcoming, and we felt right at home. Carolina Ale House exceeded our expectations with its delectable appetizers, warm service, and inviting atmosphere. Whether you're a fan of cheese curds, shrimp, or any other dish on their menu, this place is a must-visit."
