"Amazing!!! Chef Nico is awesome and makes sense why he is James beard foundation nominated. The food is incredible - flavors and textures were exciting and delicious. We loved the banana cake (jasmine tea soaked blueberries are you kidding me!?), the sisig carbonara so drool worthy!!! We loved sitting at the bar to watch it all be prepared."
"Thoroughly enjoyed trying out Chef Nikko Cagalanan's spot. We loved his pop up dinner at Cultura (AVL) and he is creating stunning and artfully complex dishes that are grounded in Filipino comfort food. And if you saw the size of the kitchen, you'd be all the more impressed! Cocktails: Kokomo and Sunset Blvd Food: Arroz Caldo, Brussels, Mushroom Toast, Scallops Dessert: Ube Merengue Napoleon and Banana bread with blueberries"
"If you are looking for traditional Filipino food, this is not your place. However, if you are looking for Filipino food re-imagined, please do yourself a favor and see where Pinoy food can take you. I took my family here and we were immediately greeted with a warm welcome by the staff. We ordered arroz caldo, pansit, turon, sansrival and lychee tea. The caldo retained its distinct calamansi flavored taste same as the pansit. The addition of smoked trout roe and xo sauce was genius. The soft egg made it even richer. Pansit with the lump crab as its meat made it light but I kind of miss the joy of protein on this. The lychee tea was enjoyable. Not sweet at all which we prefer. The turon was a stroke of genius kind of deconstructed. The combination of jackfruit puree and brown sugar mousse sandwiched in layers of crispy lumpia wrapper was an unforgettable experience. I have had so many sansrivals before and Kultura’s version has its own merits to celebrate. The ube buttercream and merangue needs more decadence in my opinion but the one-bite experience of the whole was a joyful package. I only wish they had more room and staff to make the service more efficient. All in all, it was a lovely experience. As a Pinoy, I beamed with pride seeing customers from different backgrounds enjoy Filipino food. Kultura made a bold step in serving a reinvention of well-loved Pinoy foods!"
"Cute spot with Filipino food served in an upscale way. I like the atmosphere, and the service was good, though I thought the food missed the mark on a couple dishes. We shared the ribs, rice porridge (arroz Caldo), and duck (pato). The rice porridge was easily the best - good stick-to-your-bones comfort food. The duck and ribs were good, but for the price I was hoping to be wowed a little more - they tasted like items you could get at hundreds of other restaurants. Overall it was a good experience, I just won't be eager to return."
"Four of us dined for the first time at Kultura. It is a quaint building off Spring Street. 2 friends had never had Filipino food so we were in for a treat. Eva was our server, she was excellent and attentive. I ordered the Pancit, a noodle dish. Two others had the Ramen (Monday is Ramen special) and another had the duck. All was excellent! We also had dessert even though we were stuffed. We had the Turon and our friends had the Sans Rival. SOOO light and delicious. Two of us also got a cocktail and it was light and refreshing (sorry forgot the name of it but here's a photo). Highly recommend Kultura, we'll be returning for sure!"
