"Gabrielle is the fine dining restaurant located in The Hotel Bennett on King Street in downtown Charleston. This was a last minute reservation for a party of 6 and the Maître D’ was exceptionally gracious in welcoming our group. The cocktails were innovative and refreshing. My husband and I ordered the Caesar Salad which is a favorite. The server offered to split it for us, which we appreciated. This was the perfect start to our dining experience. I ordered the Maine Scallops and my husband ordered the Swordfish along with a shared side of the puréed potatoes. Both entrees were prepared to perfection, although my bernaise arrived late and was a bit too thick for my taste. We also shared a bottle of the 2020 Duckhorn Merlot. Dessert was called Citrus and the fragrance was heavenly as it was served. Quite lovely and inventive."
"Went here for lunch today snd had probably most expensive soup of my lifetime. I ordered the she crab soup, which was $19 for a bowl. I thought this was a bit pricey but I didn’t have time to go elsewhere. Not only was it $19 but had at the most 1/2 cup of soup. The soup was good but certainly not worth that price!"
"Reserved for Thanksgiving $90 pp prixe fixe dinner . Drove from NC and arrived famished and excited for what we hoped would be a wonderful elevated dinner. The plate of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and brussel sprouts was served promptly, we had to ask twice for rolls which were served individually (corn or dinner). All the food was slightly cooler than room temperature, the gravy was slightly warm. We tried to find our server (or anyone nearby) to complain but after a few minutes and given our state of hunger we decided to eat the food. The mashed potatoes seemed boxed (not fresh) and the brussel sprouts were burnt and mushy. The server came several minutes after we had completely finished, and since we had eaten the cold food we didn't say anything. The check with tip came to $300.00. (Including the bottle of wine). I am not sure what Gabrielle's is like on a non holiday, but I won't try them ever again. we had such high hopes for a festive (and expensive) holiday dinner and it really put a damper on our weekend. Luckily we had some spectacular meals later while on vacation In Charleston."
"The other day my wife and I had lunch at Gabrielle Charleston in the Hotel Bennett. Everything was prepared and presented to perfection! The service was impeccable. What more can one say? The next time you are in downtown Charleston, you simply must put this place on your dining list."
"Celebrated our 34 wedding anniversary and was not disappointed! From hostess to wait staff we had a great experience. The filet was better than what we’ve had at Halls Chophouse and the oysters Rockefeller were delicious. Kudos to the staff and chefs!"
