"This will be our sons 2nd year at the Pier. The they are under new management and it has absolutely gone down hill. They simply do not care!!! Prices up, customer service down, never been treated so unprofessionally and delt with such horrible accounting practices and nonexplination for all the extra added fees. Disappointed, for the money we are paying there has to be a better, cleaner and more professional alternative. :("
"Update: went back to this location again and its no better than it was. The lack of attention to the grounds and the property are evident throughout. They should have stricter rules for tenants and guests if they want people to live and stay there. We visited the area recently and wanted to check this place out to see if it was as advertised. The location is great, and the view is spectacular, but what we found on the property just walking the grounds was alarming at best. To start with, the amount of trash and debris around the facility is overwhelming. From car parts, broken down vehicles, building materials, cans, bottles, animal waste, used furniture, computer parts and more it was everywhere. The amount of junk piled on porches and stacked in breezeways was certainly unsightly. The shoreline of the lake was covered in trash and piled in the woods behind the complex. There were plenty of old cars, motorcycles, and other mechanical devices that littered the parking lots and many of them were broken down or had flat tires. There were ground level apartments that had multiple vehicles sitting next to them in various states of repair. One we noticed had at least 6 motorcycles and more could be seen inside the apt. There were oil spills all over the pavement. Trash bags could be seen in breezeways and were there three days later when we stopped back by. The pool certification was expired and there were dead critters floating in the lazy river. We walked into the exercise room and were shocked by the conditions of the equipment. Dirty and run down. While we were there, a mouse ran out of one of the machines and went down the hall way. The staircase inside the clubhouse had dirt and other trash piled up in the corners of the treads and the floors showed signs of liquid spills all over them.. If you walk around the property, you can't help but notice the neglect in the flower beds and lawn maintenance. Weeds grew everywhere and discarded pieces of old equipment and trash can be seen in every location you look. The idea that this is some safe and awesome place to live is laughable. There is no staff on the weekends to speak of, the security is token only, and by all appearances there are no established ground rules for what you can and can not do on the property that is enforced. The grounds crew should be replaced with people who will actually pick up a piece of trash when they see it. Some code of conduct needs to be implemented and enforced to ensure that this is a great place to live and not a junk lot for irresponsible people. The workout room should be sanitized along with the pool but unless there is some change to how it is managed nothing you do here will matter. Spider webs and bugs were all throughout the breezeways, pieces of siding were damaged and falling off the buildings, and as noted there were no visible staff members to be seen. We stopped one security officer and asked some questions. This individual verified many of the things mentioned above and even commented on the unhealthy conditions of the pool. In our opinion, its a good location that is sadly not well managed and expects a premium price. Since we have a choice, we will look somewhere else."
"You get what you pay for. Pros: - Close drive to campus w/ minimal traffic - Price Cons: - Awful insulation - Noise from mechanical units - Subpar water pressure - Units are not kept up w/ regular maintenance - Nowhere to walk If budget is tight the view is tolerable. If you have a little more money go somewhere else."
"I have lived at the view for 2 years now. I resigned for my 3rd year to make it more efficient for all of us. I was not enthusiastic about resigning my lease. The first year I was a bridge student and my dishwasher did not work most of the year. No matter how many complaints you file and speak to management about, they do not care and make a poor effort to fix any problems. The second year, the door handle was broken, the sink was falling in, which can cause all kinds of pipe issues and leaks, and the light balisk was broken. Despite maintenance coming in personally to inspect the issues on multiple occasions, nothing was ever fixed. When we spoke to the office about the light balisk they basically tried to insinuate that we didn't know what we were talking about and it was simply the light bulbs that we have to replace ourselves. This year has been the worst yet!!! I have only been resigned for a month and when I moved into the new place, the door handle was broken again, the oven door was broken off as well as the handle, worall all of stthe smoke detectors had been disconnected, and worst of all, there was mold in one of the bedrooms! The first week moved in maintenance came in unannounced 6 different times. Looked at the problems and nothing was taken care of. The door handle was fixed the second week. But the main issues such as the mold, and fire hazards, and dangerous oven was not fixed. I couldn't believe they allowed us to move in somewhere with something as hazardous as mold. They were emailed multiple times, called countless times, and confronted in person. Management even came in themselves and saw the issues. Yet they were still not fixed. There were work orders placed, yet everytime they were reinformed of the issues, the office acted ignorant to the issues everytime we talked to them. It was like telling them for the first time all over again! They are the most unorganized complex I've ever heard of. They are irresponsible and couldn't care less about your personal safety or health. The view looks great on the outside. The actual building have tons of spiderwebs at any point in time and the stairwell is never cleaned. You do not get the treatment you should for how much you pay! Be cautious to move in here!!! And be prepared to be walked in on by maintenance at any time without prior informent. Thankfully after about 100 complaints in the past and a half my current issues have been resolved. However, it should not have taken that much effort or stress to get them to do their jobs! And I have already been sick most likely due to the mold. A little effort made too late. I dread the next issue to come about."
"I live here now. The apartments are beautiful, pretty spacious and the apartments starting around 9 or 10 and back have granite and stainless steel appliances. If you're a bridge student you have access to the clubhouse and the success center. Also has nice view of Lake seneca."
