"Had an amazing first experience here. Placed a takeout order and the bartender could tell that is what I was there for. Ordered ribs, brisket, pulled pork, smoked wings and Mac & cheese. Hands down the BEST brisket I have ever eaten! Perfectly seasoned and smoked with a tangy flavor that I have not had before. The wings were nice and crisp on the outside while staying perfectly moist on the inside. The ribs were tangy just like the brisket. I highly recommend trying this hidden gem if you have not been. The staff is very friendly and willing to carry on a southern conversation about anything. The way I was treated like a regular was very welcome. You don’t see that too often anymore. Prices were nice as well. A+ all around. Keep up the good work!"
"Small out of the way places like this are usually the best, and this was no exception. We got the smokehouse sampler platter. They were out of sausage, so we were able to substitute it for brisket. Everything was excellent. It all had a good smoke and seasoning. The ribs were dry rubbed, no sauce, and fall of the bone. The pulled pork had great flavor, good bark, moist, and pulled into decent sized pieces. The brisket had good bark and flavor, but a bit of tug to it, still excellent, though. We used the hickory and white sauce, both were very good. The wings were the absolute star of the meal. They were excellent, from the rub to the smoke, awesome. They gave us some blackberry seasonal sauce, and it was ok, but I don't care for real fruity bbq sauce. We had the beans and collards for sides. The beans were just that, beans. They could have used a little extra something, pork, green peppers, but they were ok. My wife liked the collards, but for me they had to much oil and not enough seasoning. The homemade pickles and onions were great. I wish we had room for dessert, they looked awesome. Staff was great and we loved the decorations."
"This is not just any barbecue. They make their own sauces. Each sauce has a unique flavor. The mustard sauce is probably the best mustard barbecue I’ve ever had. I ordered the burrito bomb, which was beautifully presented on the plate and was full of flavors and textures all in perfect balance. My partner got the Live Oak Mac Bowl with brisket, which was creamy and full of flavors of bbq, bacon, cheese, and smoked brisket without being too salty. It had bold flavors and was big enough for two. The iced tea was delicious. The staff are super friendly and eager to talk about all of their amazing flavors and special events. We highly recommend Live Oak Smokehouse."
"I picked up food here for dinner for my husband’s birthday. This was my first visit. I tried several items, ribs, brisket, turkey, wings and the Mac and cheese. My family enjoyed everything. I wanted pulled chicken but it wasn’t available so the waitress suggested the turkey. I’m glad she did because that was my favorite. We tried several sauces and we enjoyed all of them. We will definitely go back."
"I didn’t even know this place existed. I went here the other day for lunch with a friend and it was a very nice place. The waitress was very friendly! There is a full bar inside, but it definitely doesn’t have a “bar” scene. The vibe was very rustic inside with mason jar glasses and antique decorations. I got the pulled pork Sammy and Mac and cheese as well as the fried green tomatoes. Both very good! I was told they are about to redo the menu too so I am looking forward to that!"
