Hampton Inn Hilton Head

"Stayed here for a work conference. The hotel is 1.4 miles from the Westin conference center. This facility is currently undergoing renovations and is a little dated and worn. The room was clean and stocked with toiletries. Includes a refrigerator, microwave and one cup coffee maker (not Keurig). The bathroom sink is outside the bathroom so great for multiple guests. The lighting in the sink area was poor. Breakfast was good and even included biscuits and gravy one morning (free). The staff was helpful and friendly. Outside lighting for the non main entrance doors was poor making it difficult to see the caution paint on the sidewalk at night. Overall a good visit."

"My wife and I always, long before Covid, check out our room before unpacking our stuff.This place was super clean. My wife has allergies. So I even wipe down the walls for pollen. This room was clean. The toilet itself, was rocking. But,we did not hold that against Hampton. That is not usually a motel issue. We've stayed here before. And we will again."

"It's a good but not great, older hotel. Cleanliness in the room and bathroom were good, showers in the rooms were very difficult to turn on, and the pressure kept fluctuating. Airplane noises and general noises can be heard in the room as the walls are thin. The bed was comfortable, so that's a plus."

"Myself and my wife went on a 4 day stay to Hilton Head Island and chose this hotel because we have stayed at many other Hilton Hampton Inns. They are what they are. Normally a decent place to rest your head, relax and enjoy wherever you are. But when booking I saw some not so nice reviews about the hotel but I tried to stay positive and boy were they right. I will start by saying the entire staff minus one lady that was conducting breakfast one morning was absolutely fantastic. Very friendly, polite and helpful when I needed extra towels and shampoo they went over and above. The staff gets 5 stars. Yes, that’s even with the one cranky lady at breakfast. But the hotel gets a zero star. The smell alone will make you turn around. I decided to book a room on the second floor because when I saw the reviews about the smell I was thinking about maybe mildew or something because the first floor got wet from a storm or something. Boy was I wrong, the second floor was worse. It’s a combination smell of mildew, stale water and sewage. Another issue was the air quality. The first night was really stuffy in our room. The next day I pulled out the air filters in the ac unit and they were clogged with dust. After a quick cleaning with some cold water in the tub they were clean and back in the ac unit and we breathed much better the rest of the stay. I already contacted Hilton rewards and they basically didn’t do anything. They offered me 20,000 points which is half a days stay at this hotel. To save time, money and a smelly headache don’t stay here."
