Dr. Gary A. Bass, MD

"I’ve seen Dr. Bass since I was a baby. My mom had me in England and I was crying until I turned blue and passed out frequently, no one knew what was wrong. My mom flew back to the States and Dr. Bass dx me with bad reflux. She had to fly back to England but he was able to figure out how to get my Mom a year supply of the medication because we were unable to get it in England. He stayed in the after close in the office for 2 extra hours trying to get her this medication for me. When I was in the 3rd grade, I had symptoms of IBD. Dr. Bass was able to refer and quickly find me help. I was later diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, a chronic disease which can be commonly misdiagnosed and untreated. I haven’t had any surgeries or serious complications since then and I owe not only my Gastroenterologist but Dr. Bass for listening to my mom and I and getting me the proper help. I am now older and have to move on from Pediatric care but it’s safe to say, Dr. Bass has provided nothing short of extraordinary care. My two brothers were also his patients and even when it was just me visiting, I remember him asking how Joe and Patrick were doing and what they were up to. His personability and dedication showed me what it takes to be a good provider and set an excellent example; as I am now graduated from college and applying to PA school."

"Just took my two year old today to see Dr.Bass. This is my last time ever seeing Dr.Bass. He was extraordinarily rude and when I asked about getting information about the Covid 19 Vaccination - he told me he doesn’t believe in getting children vaccinated for Covid. but that’s just “his beliefs”. He than refused to give me any information about how or where I could get my son vaccinated. i do NOT recommend Dr. Bass. He is extremely rude and unprofessional."

"First and the last time using this provider. I have been using CMC since my daughter born. My daughter has been having fever 3 days in a row and his diagnosis was a virus and to continue doing what I’m Doing (over the counter meds) She has been since almost a week and doing the same thing does not work. After requesting a prescription he started saying that will not work. How Will not work !? Without trying !!!? Anyway not using Gary BASS again !"

"Has dismissed my concerns multiple times. My most recent and LAST encounter (I’ve been with this practice for 17 years worth my oldes so I don’t take changing lightly) with Dr. Bass consisted of him telling me that after one visit, 10-12 days of headaches and a fever for the last 3 days, then another visit, that my son had a “new virus” and still didn’t need treatment (but of course come back in 5-6 days). I waited 2 more days with high fever and called the office and he insisted it was still a virus...at this point my kid has been sick for 2 weeks. I took him to urgent care where they treated him for an infection and the whole thing was over with 5 days of antibiotics. They had the nerve to want to charge me $50 for my two kids medical records. The older doctors were great but Bass is the WORST! His rude office manager is a close second!"

"Dr. Bass is at the top of my "favorite doctors" list! As someone who works in healthcare, I can be very picky about doctors. Dr. Bass is as kind and compassionate as the old-timey doctors of yesteryear. He has been taking care of my 4 children for 19 years. The office is easy to work with and his nurse, Brandy, is the coolest nurse in Greenville. Dr. Bass is not an arrogant, condescending practitioner. He listens to me and to the kids without assumption and with extraordinary patience. If he is not certain about something, he isn't too proud to admit that a specialist would be better suited. Our health insurance is changing next year. I already told my husband that if Dr. Bass isn't covered under the new plan, we need to budget money to pay cash. I won't go anywhere else for any price."
