"I feel comfortable and confident dropping my dog off at daycare. I know he is in good hands. He comes back exhausted and happy. Being greeted by one of the staff members, Amy, is the best part of my day - she always has a huge smile and positive attitude. I love when she is working, because I know my dog is loved and cared for, plus Amy's positivity is contagious. Seriously best start to my day!"
"Hollycrest is clean, neat and flea free. We rent an apartment for all 3 of our dogs to say together just like being at home! The room has a couch and a TV set that stays on for their entire visit. The dogs have their own run and can go out when they need to. The attendants do everything you request to feed your pets and keep them safe and comfortable. It is fairly priced and worth every cent They have a groomer that will give your dog a total grooming before you pick them up ( at an extra cost). We have been boarding our girls here for years. We feel they are safe and well cared for. Give them a try, your dog's will love the experience."
"Do not bring your dog here unless it’s a last resort. I worked here about a year ago and I wouldn’t bring my own dog. Unless you pay a ridiculous price for them to play for 15 minutes, your dog will be in a crate all day, every day. Your dog will be safe but they will also be miserable."
"I had used daycare for around three months before issues occurred. Everyday I would ask how my dog was doing-99% of the time they were positive comments. Upon arriving one day (after three months of visiting) I was told there has been issues since the beginning with my dog. That day I was also told that my dog was “attacked” TWO days prior. Now, attack could’ve been the wrong word as I did not notice scratches- but two days later I was notified. I took my dog in for boarding as well as day care one day. I was told when I picked him up he was at day care for 10 minutes and then in the kennel because of his behavior. So my dog was in a kennel for 24 hours. I was never notified. Because of this issue I was told there was a meeting on how to proceed with my dog and day care… I waited a month and no response. I called to “check the status” of my dog and was told my dog needs trained to come back. I have been told by multiple employees that those that are hired are not qualified for the job. I enjoyed using hollycrest until communications were lost."
"My dog stayed with Hollycrest from 7/28-8/5. When I arrived, the staff was friendly and inviting. When I started talking about my dog’s stay I was described a different kennel than I was told prior to booking. So as you can imagine, I was confused when I was described something different. I walked out because my dog was having a difficult time going with the staff (as I was too) so I asked my husband to check where my dog was staying because it was not described as what we saw and were told prior to check-in. The staff attempted to show my husband exactly what we thought my dog was getting and my husband had to ask multiple times for someone to tell him where our dog was (I told him I watched the staff walk her to the building up the hill from the office). The staff continued to fumble on her words to tell him where my dog was staying. My husband walked out of the building the staff was showing him and walked to the building my dog was in and ask if it was the same layout as she was showing him. She finally told him no but would not let him go inside, stating “the dogs will bark if we go in.” As if dogs weren’t barking all around us. Sadly, we were at Hollycrest’s mercy as we had a flight early the next morning. I was extremely upset that no one was transparent with us. We booked this stay weeks in advance and no one called to say my dog’s kennel would be changed. I was also extremely upset that the staff did not let us see where my dog would be staying as we previously felt during our tour that Hollycrest was open and honest. We also felt that Hollycrest was older/dated, but clean and caring during our tour. We were also told about the app to book our stay during our tour. However, I failed to ask about details of the app prior to check-in. I was told Hollycrest had been “using the app since March, but still had not figured out how to use it.” I was also told they used to use Facebook but something was wrong with their Facebook now. I did notice the old posts on Facebook prior but figured it was due to Hollycrest using an app now for daily reports. I did call while I was away and the staff was friendly on the phone stating my dog was eating well and enjoying her play days. I picked my dog up about 12 hours early, a week later, and paid my bill. I ended up paying a 15% tip (roughly 50$) as my dog means a lot to me and I wanted to show my appreciation even though drop off was not great. Thinking the kennel area would be ok. I did not check the dog bag I packed for my dog’s stay until I got home to put things away. I took the small bag of food out first and noticed a chewed hole. It was not a typical dog chew but I chalked it up to be just that, however, I quickly found out it was not a dog at all! It was mice! I kept pulling things out and there was mouse poop everywhere in the bag. I packed two stuffed animals as they are my dog’s favorites. Both stuffed animals smelled horrible as I unpacked the bag and had mouse poop on them which made me think they never gave her the stuffed animals. There was a ton of poop in the bottom of the bag and in a box that had my dog’s extra wet food incase she needed it. This also upset me thinking the place my dog was in, had mice freely hanging out and our pets are having to sleep with mice! I am extremely upset with this facility and cannot believe this is how they take care of people’s pets! I will not be staying with Hollycrest again. Which makes me sad. I was hopeful this would be a place we could trust and use again. I was fully transparent that this was my dog’s first time boarding and I wanted to make sure she was comfortable. Needless to say, I fully regret giving them additional money and my dog not staying somewhere else."
