"I went to LCMG/ BMH yesterday for an Echocardiogram and nuclear stress test. From the minute that Charles came to the waiting room , which by the way was exactly my appointment time, this team made me feel like I was their only patient. Charles was the person who put the IV in my arm and he was so good I did not even feel it. He was also very careful to position me on the table so I could be as comfortable as possible and not need to move during the test. Having my hands above my head is not very comfortable to me and he understood that. Carol, Robin and Charles made these dreaded test very tolerable and I hope if I ever have to have these test again they will be my team. Please thank them again for me for a job well done."
"Although I appreciate the hospital, its staff, and the care I have received, I find the billing process to be extremely frustrating. Madness, really!!! There are several issues that make it difficult to manage: 1. Bills often arrive many months after a procedure has taken place, sometimes even a year later, making it too late to submit them to insurance. 2. In addition, bills may come from billing companies in other states, which can make it hard to coordinate with the hospital's billing department. It seems like the left hand never knows what the right hand is doing. 3. Sometimes I receive bills for services I never received from people I have never heard of, and there doesn't seem to be a single person who can help me sort it out. I get passed around from one department to another, and no one can give me a clear answer. Eventually, I get so exhausted from trying to sort things out that I just pay the bill out of pocket to avoid the hassle. I am convinced that these issues are systemic and start at the top."
"If could give 0 stars then I absolutely would. This hospital is the absolute worse. I continue to receive bills from them that should’ve been paid for 2-3 YEARS AGO. I started receiving them after I moved out of state and I even got sent to collections over one that should have been paid for 3 years ago. I have attempted to call and correct this numerous times with absolutely nothing being done about it. I have recently debated on contacting a lawyer for this because this is absolutely ridiculous!!!! I have corrected all of my insurance information (which should have been 100% covered and initially was covered) numerous times and yet they still keep messing it up and sending the same bill. If you’re on your death bed, do not go to this hospital. Drive to Charleston or Savannah if you want good care and know that everything is taken care of the way it should be. This hospital should be shut down at the rate all the comments are coming up. I guarantee there are far more complaints, they just never posted it."
"Sitting in the ER with my mom , this hospital is incredibly dirty , doesn’t look like floors have been cleaned in awhile , all the wheels in the various carts, tables, bed… are encrusted with filth . Went to the commissary it was even worse! Even though the staff seems to be doing their best in the ER seems to be no concern for cleanliness or concern about germs"
"My first experience and last...I checked in at the ER at approximately 12:45 AM and immediately was registered and taken back to a room. I was thinking what great service! The nurse came in and asked a few questions, Dr. came right in and began his assessment, the nurse left during this, the Dr. said the nurse would be back to draw labs and bring IV fluids. The Dr. left the room, I was left there in a gown, no call light, no blanket, no nothing. At 1:45 AM I found my way to the restroom. I saw one other patient in a room, nobody out in the hallways. At 2:15 AM my nurse still had not returned, so I got myself dressed and opened the door, there was a staff member out in the hall, I told her I was leaving. She stated she would have to go get my nurse because I needed to sign a form to leave. I stayed in the hallway waiting. My nurse came around the corner from the nurses station telling the other staff member..."Oh yeah, I forgot about her!" Not one time while I was waiting, did I hear any commotion out in the hallways for me to think they were that busy. If you are that busy, pop in and say so, understanding they need to care for their most acute patients first. I work in healthcare as well, this is NOT how any patient should be treated. Needless to say, the reason for my visit to BMH turned out to be quite an acute incident. I signed out AMA and then drove myself to Tidewatch and was quickly assessed and transported to Savannah for a 3 day hospital inpatient stay needing acute specialty care. I will never go back to BMH."
