SpringHill Suites by Marriott Beaufort 2227 Boundary Street, Beaufort, SC 29902

"This was my preferred hotel for business travel in the area until tonight. I never review hotels but this encounter was so bad that I couldn’t let it slide as a “bad day” on the employees part. I arrived around 8:30 to check in after 4 hours in the car so I was tired and ready for bed. I left my ID in the car and shows her something else with my name and picture and said I was here earlier this week- she stated that she needed my ID it so I went back to my car to get it. Although I was not thrilled, I didn’t say anything negative about having to go back to get it or give her a hard time about requiring it, I remained silent during the interaction and was checking messages and emails while she checked me in and did not engage in conversation because I didn’t want to come off rude or short with her. Immediately after checking me in I went to walk to my room and the front desk agent began to berate me for my “attitude” . I replied by saying to her that I didn’t say a word and she began to lie saying I slammed my ID on the counter. She don’t drop it and kept going on and on saying I slammed my ID down. She kept escalating the exchange when I just wanted to go to my room and I had to walk away to end it because she wouldn't stop yelling at me. I admit I lost my cool because I was not expecting to be screamed at during the check in process. If this is what she does when no words are exchanged, I can’t imagine her attitude with unhappy customers. I am a very understanding person and typically give grace for a bad day but her behavior was out of line. After I walked around the corner she continued yelling negative things about me in front of 2 lobby guests who were having a meeting which was embarrassing for me and completely uncalled for. Tatiana (unsure of spelling) was the rudest hotel agent I have ever encountered in my 10 years of business travel and I have seen a lot of rude and unhappy hotel guests during that time. Even in the worst situations I’ve never seen a response like this one . It’s been over an hour and hard to fall asleep because my blood pressure is so high after being screamed at. In the future I will stay at the Holiday Inn that shares a parking lot with this hotel despite having Gold Elite status with Marriott. I emailed the manager and sent a formal complaint to Marriott so they can address her attitude. I’m hoping this review saves some people the experience I had."

"First time staying here. The location of the hotel is pretty good and easy to spot off the main highway. The room had a decent size sleeping area as well as sitting/sofa bed area. The bathrooms had a different set-up than I've seen, and I liked the sliding doors. Also, the walk-in closet was huge, in my opinion. A few things... there was no frig or microwave. Most hotels I visit do not have microwaves, but I didn't get the no frig part, especially given there isn't a bar to order food downstairs either. The room could use some dusting. I dropped my phone in the bathroom and when I picked it up it was covered with dust and hair. Breakfast was included with the stay, which we appreciated. Overall, it was a good stay, but just a few things can be improved that could make it a go-to spot for me when I'm in town."

"This hotel was very clean! The staff was also amazing. Every staff member always greets you and ensures you have everything you need. Karen and Daveisha worked the front desk for most of my stay and are true gems. Breakfast is included and was always hot and fresh. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. I would never stay anywhere else in Beaufort."
