Reviews
"As stated in several previous reviews, transportation is ridiculous. This is our first year in D6 but apparently this has been an ongoing issue. Just to name a few issues, only a little over a month in...... - My daughter's FIRST DAY OF K5, she was taken back to the school because I wasn't standing at the road when they pulled up at my house 5 minutes after school got out.. mind you, they had not given me a time to expect the bus, after I was told at meet the teacher that transportation would contact me the first day of school. so I was waiting inside watching from the window (work from home so couldn't just sit outside indefinitely) and in the LESS THAN 30 SECONDS it took me to get out there, the driver drove off. I get to the school, and they tell me they DON'T KNOW WHERE SHE IS!!! Thankfully she arrived shortly after... Then the bus driver had the nerve to get an attitude with me at the school when I told him no one had given me a time to expect him. ...Great first experience on the bus for a kindergartener!! - My middle school son's driver once drove straight past our house after another stop down the street when we WERE standing out there, and after calling transportation, they at least sent the bus back because "he forgot our stop"... - Now, we are going on 3 weeks of my children's buses running over an hour late at pick up AND drop off because they are short on drivers, and they "don't know" what happened to one of them or if/when he will be back.... so my 6th grader is over an hour late to school every day and then having to sit at the school for 1 1/2 - 2 hours every day waiting on the bus and doesn't get home until nearly 5pm. AND they have changed systems for notifying parents of bus schedule updates at least 3 times already (and one of the apps doesn't even work). - Plus, not as big of a deal but just the icing on the cake... since they are late in the mornings, the kids don't get breakfast at school, which is supposed to be offered to all students. ________________ Do better.... This is absolutely unacceptable when you are trusted to take care of our children!! I shouldn't have to feel so helpless as a working mom who has no other option than to depend on such a vital part of our education system. I literally wish we could move back to Greenville County already... after JUST buying our first home where we hope(d) to raise our kids."
"Transportation dept needs to be revamped. As the logistics company that moves the most important cargo in the world you would think that getting the kids to thier school on time would be a priority. Our children's education is more important than almost anything else, getting them there is pertinent. When the bus is consistently two hours late and the staff is simply saying that they don't have drivers there is a problem. Our kids' safety and education needs to be a priority and it shows that it is not. I would love to have a response to this that tells us that a solution is in the works instead of just excuses to push the responsibility onto someone else. Today I was told to contact a state political office to solve the issue. I should not need to. If your management cannot find a solution for this issue, perhaps the biggest issue is the management."
"One of the worst transportation offices i have ever had to deal with. Cant even count how many times my kids have been late for school. Happens way to often."
"District 6 Elementary School has a wonderful staff at serving their lunches. Fast & efficient service, delicious lunch! Thanks District 6! Keep up the good work."
