"Went to print center to have two notebooks spiral bound. I provided the preprinted papers. Paid for the service at 12:15 and was told to return to get it at 3:00. I chose to stay and shop around. I live a ways out and was hoping maybe it would get finished before 3. I observed other customers being helped with their print needs and orders. I knew my binding project would take less than a minute. At 1:00 another associate asked how she could help. I explained the service I was waiting for. She asked for my name and said she could help me. And then a few moments later, gave verbal reassurance, “I’ll be right with you, Ms. Brantley.” I continued to walk around a bit. 25 minutes went by. I saw the associate who told me she’d help. I went up to her and asked if my project could be completed by anyone other employee than the guy behind the counter. Explained again that I live far out and don’t plan to leave & come back at 3. She seemed bother and gave me a look of frustration. She said something like, “I’ve got it.” Not two minutes later, the original guy comes over and hands me the notebooks, saying, “I’m swamped back there, that’s why I told you to come back at 3.” I told him I understood, that I was told by the other associate that she’d help me, that’s why I followed up with her. I told him I wasn’t upset at anyone. I mean, my project wasn’t going to take but a minute or less. And if the one guy doing print shop orders is swamped, and another associate is capable of helping him, AND she told me she would, then what’s the issue? I realize she may have gotten distracted, with what seemed to be online order fulfillments and bagging, and the store’s hand held device. But don’t make me feel like an inconvenience when I come up and ask about it. I am the customer. I am here, in person, waiting on something that will take minimal effort to check-off. And YOU TOLD me you’d be right with me. There is a better way to handle people IN the store. And not make them feel like they are an inconvenience. Manager said sorry to me one time when he saw the interactions, and gave a half-excuse of them being busy. Then go help the guy behind the counter!!! There are 3 of you floating and doing order fulfillments for people who are NOT in the store. It’s like drive-thru VS people in the restaurant Maybe bad google reviews will help them prioritize."
