"I’ve been a customer of Food Equipment Company for about 6 years. The service has been pretty good good up until now. On September 17, 2020 I purchased an oven that costs almost $4000 for my restaurant and Catering Company as the one I had caught fire. On September 24, 2020, I contacted the manager (who I have built a working relationship with) to let him know that the seal was coming apart on the inside of the oven and the door was hard to open and we had to slam it to close it. He stated that he would send someone out to take a look at it. Someone came out and found that the plastic had melted and it should have been removed upon delivery. The individual cleaned it up and he stated it should be fine now. I have called back several times and left several messages about the same issue. Finally the manager called back and stated that he would order new parts for the oven. I still have not received them as of December 10, 2020 nor any updates about the parts. I am very displeased with the service I have received with this transaction. I told the manager that I am trying to be pleasant and professional because I like this company but this is just unacceptable. He stated that he was under the impression that parts had been ordered and the owner knows about this situation. On December 10, 2020 I called again and asked to speak with the owner this time. He was unavailable and the person who answered the phone said they would give him the message regarding my situation. I also told the person that I didn’t want to involve my lawyer but I would if i had too. A couple of hours later I received an email from the owner stating that I could have my lawyer call his lawyer to settle the situation. I feel that the email was rude, unprofessional, disrespectful and not very customer service friendly. I am a small minority owned business trying to stay in operation through this pandemic and I have to wonder that if I was a small white owned business if I would be treated the same way."
