"I got the Chick Flick which was pretty dry (rating 3 stars) and needed a side. I wish any of the sandwiches came with a side. The candied pecans were any interesting touch but the sandwich overall was missing something (outside of more mayo). My fiancé got the Gropfather ($16), switching the pesto out for a chipotle aioli which she really liked and rated it 4 stars. Again, there needs to be a side for the price of these sandwiches. Doesn’t give me New York or Philly bodega vibes but caters to the young college students with their cute colors and fun drinks."
"We stumbled onto Bodega after getting off a tour bus on the block. What a great spot! Very eclectic and creative menu. Great plant based options and plenty of meat/dairy choices as well. I had a vegan sandwich named the Gropmother. Truly one of the best dishes we had during our stay in Charleston! Other highlights: excellent & unique coffee drinks, great brunch options, cute space with lots of outdoor seating available, friendly staff. We actually returned for a 2nd visit so we could sit outside and try more!"
"Sat at the bar literally in front of multiple bartenders and they said nothing to me and my friends.Seconds later other people came and were instantly served.. After waiting for some time one bar tender finally came up and asked what we wanted but it was honestly too late. As a woman of color I do feel like some places downtown treat us different and this is definitely the place. Which sucks because I love tipping and I’m sweet as ever. I would definitely look into going to IOP instead of downtown."
"We had a great time eating at Bodega once we got in. I think there was a little miscommunication with the hostess stand forgetting our reservation but we did finally make it in and everything we are and drank was delicious. I have nothing bad to say about the food or drink. I had the chick flick and it was to die for. I also had a latte and the sour patch shot."
"We have been coming here since Bodega opened and have never been disappointed. The food has been great every time, my favorite sandwich is the Cow or the Egg & Cheese. Pre-pregnancy, Bodega had one of my favorite Bloody Mary’s in the area. The service has never been an issue, even when they are busy on weekends/mornings. Added photos of the Gropfather, Sunday Morning Lox, and my favorite the Cow. We love this place sooo much!"
