"It's hard to get authentic pakistani food in NC, so when we travelled down to Charleston this place was on our list and did not disappoint. We had the Chapali Kebabs, Tawa Qeema, Chicken Tikka and Lahori Cholay in mains and paapri chaat & samosa chaat for appetisers. Of these my favourite was the Chapali and Lahori cholay. Fernando also did an excellent job serving our table. Oh and the hot chai was great too to top off all the food. We will be back !"

"The food in the Charleston area can be very simple. A plain, nonadventurous pallet is always the flavor of the day, so it's refreshing to see something breaking the mold in a big way. I got a massive mix of dishes on the menu. I had the fried chicken pakora, the mindbender(?) burger, the beef wrap, and a mix thali. Each dish was better than the last and with the highlight being the rice. The flavors were solid without being reduced, and I loved the mix. Great service from the knowledgeable staff! I recommend highly!"

"This was our second time trying Makika Canteen but this time it was the Mount Pleasant location. The service was absolutely wonderful! The staff were friendly. The food was perfect. We had the Chicken Tikka Masala with Garlic Naan, Hot Chai, Chapli Kabab, Dahi Pori, Gulab Jamun, Nutella Naan, and the Masala Poutine. Everything was full of flavor and hot. The server brought us a Nutella naan for my husband’s birthday which made our experience even more perfect. I highly recommend. They offer indoor and outdoor seating."
