"Update: we have been a few more times and they have been spot on every single time. The food is still amazing and the service is top tier. Early in the week is the best time for a quiet evening without too many people. I stand by my previous review... you are missing an incredible experience if you don't go! What a fantastic place! Very non descript, and if you blink you miss it. Trust me, you don't want to blink, not only will you miss it.... you will miss out on a treasure! Get there early or get a reservation. Small seating area, but space is utilized well for maximum seating but not cramped. When full, it can get a little loud. Loaded baked potato soup was great. Wife had gnocchi marinara and really liked it. Side of Brussels sprouts and parmesan truffle fries. She loved the Brussels sprouts and the fries were unique in a good way. They have great reviews on their fried chicken, so I gave it a shot. Had a breast, thigh, and leg. I cannot explain how good the chicken was, but I can tell you I have never had fried chicken that was perfectly cooked, incredibly moist, and I was able to cut through it like a hot knife through butter. It was absolutely amazing, and seasoning was perfect. If you think you have had great fried chicken before, it will probably pale in comparison to this. The mac n cheese side was extremely good as well. Drinks were well mixed, and wife said the peach bellini was very good. Our waitress was on point, very personable and interactive. The order was exactly right and she didn't write it down (we ordered drinks, soup, hush puppies, entrees with 2 sides each all at the same time). I have had waitress that couldn't get my drink order right, much less the whole meal at one time. She checked in on us often, and was an absolute joy as our server. There were several other things on the menu we want to try, so this will definitely be a return visit several times. I don't care where you live. If you like fried chicken, great service and great food, take a plane, train, car, boat, scooter, bike or whatever you can and try this wonderful restaurant for yourself!!"
"Stopped in late for lunch/dinner. My second time in here. I'm glad I came back in. The food, drinks, and customer service were great. They do have outside dining. If you are coming for dinner, I would get a reservation. Lunch has great prices, but drinks are a little higher than average. They were good, but pricey!"
"The food is nothing short of amazing! The crab cake was lightly breaded and really crispy on the outside and moist and delicious inside, feel like there is a slight bit of cheese but no filler and a salad was served with! The fried green tomatoes were bursting with flavor, crispy and delicious! Everything was cooked to perfection! Service was excellent, Jessica was our waitress. The potato croquet was excellent as well as the fried cheese sandwich with bacon! Can't wait to come back and enjoy more deliciousness! Behind the restaurant is their speakeasy, a separate building. Very cute and charming bar serving beer, wine and they even craft their own fabulous cocktails! Filled up about 4:30 so come early!"
"We were going to the Charleston tea gardens and stopped here for lunch. It was delicious. Loved the BLT made with fried green tomato I made mine vegetarian and substituted the bacon for pimento cheese, the potato fritters were creamy on the inside and crispy on the outside. They also had a vegetable sandwich I will try next time. Also nice selection of local beers. Cute rustic farmhouse decor inside and patio out front with outside tables. Everyone enjoyed their lunch"
"My family and I (2 adults, 2kids) ate here for dinner! We didn’t have reservations (didn’t know we needed them), but thankfully they were able to get us seated right away. The hostess was nice! Overall, the food was great, especially the fried green tomatoes and the shrimp and grits! I ordered the fried chicken. The sides were good, particulary the greens, but the chicken was just okay…not seasoned. I gave it to my husband who’d ordered the shrimp and grits (excellent and I wished I’d ordered)! We were thankful that they offered a kids menu and crayons to keep our two entertained. They had shrimp and chicken and enjoyed it. My husband had the blood orange cosmopolitan and enjoyed it. Our server was attentive and did a great job, but she wasn’t very friendly/engaging (maybe because we didn’t have a reservation…I don’t know. They were also just starting to get busy, so that could be it). Overall, great meal!"
