"Stopped here after kayaking Clear Creek in Congaree NP. Our guides highly recommended this place. The food was outstanding! The 4 of us ordered fried chicken and pork chops, each of which came with 3 sides. For us, the sides included yams, potato salad, Mac and cheese, greens, Lima beans and cornbread. We also ordered a piece of 7-up pound cake. The food was incredibly good! Highly recommend!!!"

"I give this restaurant 5 stars and not just because of the food but for the owner himself Mr. JD and the employees as well. As a born native resident of the Gadsden community, I have always passed the building for 22 years but never paid to much attention to it until last month when I stopped by for a friend because they were getting food from there. Unfortunately I didn't have the funds to get me the meal I would have liked and I expressed that to Mr. JD when he asked why I wasn't ordering anything, not to mention he paid for my WHOLE chicken wing dinner with macaroni and yams as my side and a lemonade to drink.. He also put my friends food on the house as well!!! Mr. JD showed me so much compassion & kindness also the food was WONDERFUL❤️ I came back 2 days later and ordered 3 dinners for me and my grandmother and left a tip of appreciation to show MR. JD I appreciated him for putting my food on the house the day prior and for even being there that day.. I will always be a customer of his from that day on!! The atmosphere is Soo welcoming you feel right at home.. I would definitely recommend this establishment and I am so happy I gave them a try! I wish I had a picture of my food but I will absolutely be back!"

"What a great and unexpected find just outside of Congaree National Park! We swung through for lunch after leaving the park and were treated to ice cold lemonade, fried gizzards and okra, and porkchops. The food was delicious, and the ladies working were incredibly friendly. We’ll definitely stop by again next time we’re in the area."

"Great food, better prices and overall a great place to eat for lunch or dinner after or before your visit to Congaree National Park. The reviews are high, and for good reason. This is by no means your fancy 5 star restaurant, but it's as authentic as southern home cooking can be. The service by two young gentlemen was great and they were attentive to our needs. It may not look like a lot from the outside and that's ok - the food is good."
