"Great place to hike and places to get in the water. We bring 1/10th scale RC Crawlers down here as it's a great place to drive them. Everyone down there is always interested in watching us too lol"
"This place is always been great but here are my recent years it's gaining more and more in popularity and it has caused a decline somewhat and its cleanliness there's a lot more trash from drug use alcohol broken bottles it would still be nice if people would take out what they bring in but I also only go here to play in the river with my kids"
"We had such a great time here. When you arrive there's a small area for parking on the side of the road. There are two areas you can hang out and relax near the water. You can go down on the same side as where you park come out or you can cross the street and there's another area there. Across the street is where the waterfall is. The water there is shallow on either side. Perfect for just dipping your feet in. We saw a gentleman fishing there. If you're wanting to hike the trail. It is not clearly marked. There is a service road with a orange gate. At first I didn't think that was it. We ventured up at thinking it was just the service road her access to the top of the waterfall. Once we got up there though we saw the actual beginning of the trail. I would suggest wearing long sleeves and long pants if possible. Trail is very narrow and has overhanging growth with thorns. Also wear shoes you don't mind getting muddy. There are a couple of areas where it is saturated with water. Being at the trail is narrow there's not much room for you to go around. You're going to need to do some bending and climbing over and under trees on occasion as well. The trail is easy to moderate. Overall it was a wonderful day to spend time there. I went with my dog and he had a blast in the water and on the trail."
"Both sides of the road have water access to the beautiful river, which crosses under the roadway. Pros: gorgeous river, rapids and falls. Close trail access from the road to the water. Sandy beaches and fishing or swimming. Stocked with trout. Lots of boulders to spread out on. Cons: no restroom facilities. Parking for only about 15 cars. Lots of trash along the road and trails (pretty disgusting). No handicap access and trails are steep if you have bad knees or trouble walking. One review said the dam side has deep, swift water with a quicksand like bottom, so beware. Looks like would fill up with people quickly during hot weather, so would lack privacy. That may be a “pro” if you like to party! We like privacy, so that’s why I rate only 4 stars."
"Though I really thought this was a cool place I must warn anyone that goes here. Do not get in the water. Do not let your kids in the water. Though it appears to only be ankle deep it is deceiving. About halfway across the river it turns into quicksand. In an instant I went from ankle deep water to chest deep water. This was a very scary situation that could be very bad for children or weak individuals. Enjoy from the safety of the bank only. I have read that there are plans to remove the dam and it appears this work may be starting soon as a road bed is in process now."
