Maverick Biscuit

"We tried Maverick for the first time today. When we first walked in, I was afraid we wouldn't have a seat. Luckily, several people were finishing up as we ordered. I had the Orange Walk Chicken Biscuit with no egg. It was a large biscuit with fried chicken, goat cheese fritter, and pepper jelly. The combo really hit the spot. We ordered loaded home fries, but they did not come out with the food. We were told they were on the way, but they never came. We had to ask about them. They were covered with cheese and bacon with an avocado ranch dipping sauce. I don't think they were worth $6.50. The few staff members we encountered were friendly. Prices were a little high for breakfast."

"This place has the best cat head biscuits I’ve ever had! I ate the Maverick Shrimp & Grits Buttermilk biscuit with Cajun shrimp, andouille sausage and lobster sherry sauce on a pepper jack stone grits cake…..and it was delicious!! The pictures don’t do this biscuit justice. They have a jam bar and a coffee bar, both with excellent options. The staff was friendly and the food was out quickly. I can’t wait to go again and try another one of their delicious biscuits."

"My husband and I have been here twice now. We've been wanting to try this place out, but they are always so busy, and now I know why. My first time here, I had the hangover biscuit. It's a biscuit with bacon, egg, fried chicken, then covered with bacon and candied jalapeños. It was delicious! The bacon was crispy, the chicken was hot, fresh, and crispy. The candied jalapeños gave it that extra something special. I also had their biscuit with sausage gravy. Their sausage gravy is really good and fresh. I tried their cinnamon roll biscuit as well. It was just okay. It didn't have enough of the cinnamon roll goodness, so it was on the dry side. My second visit here, I did the biscuit with sausage gravy again, but this time, I added fried chicken to it. It was delicious! I also tried their home fries. They were hot, crispy, fresh, and seasoned perfectly. They came with this delicious dipping sauce. I'm not sure what it was but it was very yummy. Then I had one of their jalapeño cheddar biscuits with some regular butter from their butter bar. Yes, they have a butter and jam bar! It was good, but it definitely needed the butter as their biscuits are on the dry side. The food and service is on point. This is definitely in my rotation of places to go back to. The dining room and tables are a little on the small side, but other than that, 5 stars all the way around. Staff is super friendly. Thank you Hunter and staff for a great second visit. We'll be back!"

"We've been here twice now. Our first time we tried out The Hangover which is a biscuit with bacon, egg, fried chicken and covered with gravy and candied jalapeños. Also checked out a biscuit with sausage gravy and their Cinnamon Roll Biscuit. The Hangover was incredible, the chicken patty was hot fresh and tasty, throw on an egg and bacon and cover it with gravy and it's a winner. Just enough jalapeños to make it interesting but not over powering. Biscuit with sausage gravy was spot on. Unfortunately the cinnamon roll biscuit is a flop. I'm a sucker for cinnamon rolls and was really excited to try this. First couple bites were pretty good, but it just didn't have a lot of goodies on it so once you got through the first few bites it was just a big dry biscuit with a hint of sweetness. Second time we went we tried the Biscuit with sausage gravy and added chicken. I want to make this clear, their sausage gravy is incredible some of the best I've had. Menu said $4 to add chicken but I only got charged $1.50. I'm not complaining but there wasn't a lot of chicken but for a $1.50 it was reasonable I would love to get the $4 portion next time (and pay for it). Either way it was delicious. Also got an order of their loaded home fries. They were crispy and seasoned well then they topped it off with cheese, bacon and scallions. Absolutely delicious! Finished it off with a cheddar Jalapeño biscuit. It was pretty good with a hefty layer of butter. They have a butter bar and the pecan butter is legendary but I've yet to try it. That'll be next time. I'll be honest these biscuits are big, dense and cakey which is good but they are a little dry so you best order something with gravy or sauce. Overall we've been very impressed. The food is great and the employees are friendly and provide great service even when they're super busy. I did dock it a star for atmosphere only because their tables are too small for what they serve. We take a table for 2 and both times I felt like I was eating on my lap."

"I went here this morning with my roommate, and it was incredible! I had the southwestern salad and she got the berry salad. We’ve had the biscuits plenty of times before, and they are still the best I’ve ever had! The wait staff and manager were also very focused on ours and the rest of the customers’ satisfaction. Good food, great atmosphere, and a caring staff. 5/5 every time!"
