"Carmen y Juan is a great authentic Mexican spot hidden gem in Park West. My wife and I are always craving street tacos and this is a spot we often forget about that's very convenient and has a great variety. The servers are attentive and welcoming. Cozy bar also in the restaurant and a lively atmosphere. Everything we have tried on the menu has been outstanding. Highly recommended if you are in the area and looking for great Mexican."
"Hands down... Best Mexican food in Mt Pleasant and possibly the whole Charleston area. Very good food and service was perfect. Sergio's Burrito is the choice."
"This place is wonderful.... food was fresh, good portions...chips & salsa were a step above the usual. I thoroughly enjoyed it."
"The food was fresh, authentic, and delicious. Good portions. 5 person group, and everyone loved their food. They have indoor and outdoor seating, we sat outside, it was a cute area. Our waitstaff was helpful and nice. We would definitely go back."
"I really enjoyed dining at this place. The owner, Juan, came out and brought our drinks and we had a good talk about where he was from and how the restaurant came to be. The food was great! The tacos had great flavor and the fried stuffed jalapenos were awesome, but be warned, they pack a punch! Try the hibiscus margarita. Actually try any of the margaritas. After a hot day walking around Old Village, the drinks left little to be desired. Even the free chips and salsa were delicious. It seems that they make their own chips, which to me, gives then a distinct advantage over your regular old Tex Mex place that one seems to frequently come across in the lowcountry. The food is pretty authentic but the salsas that come with the food were the only thing that I wanted more from. I'm used to having at least two homemade traditional salsas with some kick, but it could be that that stuff doesn't add much value considering the area."
