"Jamie is an awesome guide I have fished the Charleston area several times through the years but never had so much fun and caught so many fish. First off let me start by saying the conditions were not good it was a seasonal transition period with lots of rain. The water was dirty it was windy and very cloudy and lots of boat traffic and fishing pressure. But Jamie was upbeat and just fun to be around and laugh and joke with along with putting us on some good Reds and Speckled trout along with a Flounder. All total we caught 19 Redfish, 4 Speckled Trout, and a Flounder. We ran into other guides along with locals who were fishing the same area and all said the fishing was tough and nothing was biting it was one of the best days I have ever had on the water."
"I didn't tell the captain but I literally got tired of catching fish. The dude sniffs the air and says change to this lure. That's a very mild exaggeration."
"Best inshore fishing day I ever had."
"I have to to start with a little background. I take a few charters every year and have done quite a few with other guides around Charleston. My 13 year old daughter and I did one early in the week with a different guide and the fishing was rough. We caught a few Reds but with the hot weather, the conditions were rough. I tried fishing on my own and did extremely poorly. Unexpectedly, my daughter had 2 of her friends roll into town with one dad. We had dinner with the dad and girls and the girls all decided that they wanted to go fishing the following day. I started texting a few of the guides I knew and none of them were available. I randomly started e-mailing calling and texted every guide or service I could find. One of the charter groups was nice enough to respond and told me to save my money because the fish would simply not be biting. Fortunately Capt. Jamie responded. I knew I was bringing his worst nightmare to the boat (2 dads who think they can fish, and 3 13 year old girls) on a boat that is better suited for 2-3 people. He gave me a quote that was a little high and I confirmed knowing I could just stiff him on the tip and it would even out. The girls had a blast. Capt. Jamie was able to get them in a nice rotation and in spite of wind and a strong incoming tide and constantly reeling in fish, we had minimal snags. I'm sure we tested his patience. He gave fantastic instructions to me and the girls. He kept them entertained and even showed the how to tag fish when we caught a couple of Mangrove Snapper. Overall it was a great trip and he will be on my short list for future charters. I think he sincerely wants to catch fish but some people may be more interested in a kinder, gentler approach. I would suggest you have somewhat thick skin and check your ego at the dock. If you want to catch fish, I would highly recommend him."
"I have gone fishing with Jamie on three occasions because I want a pro who knows what they're doing. Not a guy with a boat who just takes people fishing on the weekends. He has always put me on fish."
