"We got a great pool from this store. The guy that installed it, Dan, did an outstanding job with the install. He was on time and was so professional with his work. He also took time to show us everything we needed to know and answered our questions. However, before I ever bought the pool, I asked the owner of this pool store point blank if they would winterize and open my pool for the summer. She assured me that YES they would do this even though I lived 30 miles from Roebuck. When I went back to officially buy the pool, I asked her about the protocol for having the pool closed for the winter. Again, I asked her point blank if they would travel to my place to do this. She assured me that they would travel to my house, and to call around late August to early September to set this process up. So, I paid for the pool. In September, I called to set up my appointment for the guy to come out. As soon as I gave her my address, she told me “No, I will not send my guys to your house, it’s too far.” I reminded her what she told me before I purchased the pool and she knew my address then, yet had told me it wouldn’t be a problem. She proceeded to give me the name of Nick Blanchard and I could call him. She said she wouldn’t call him, but I could if I wanted my pool winterized. I called him and he told me he would come out. This guy then proceeded to “ghost” me after he didn’t show up. He never has called me back and it’s been weeks now. I would have had more respect for him if he had told me he didn’t want to do the job. I will not be doing business with this outfit again. I will buy my chemicals and anything else I need from anyone but Rubber Ducky Pools. Once she makes her sale/money, the owner doesn’t care that she has lied just to make a sale. The owner is not only a liar, she is also the most hateful , unprofessional individual I have ever dealt with."
"They, are cons shelly is the most fake, person you could meet, it's not about good service, it's all about the money, I would never use, this company."
"I hired Rubber Ducky earlier this season to open my pool that had turned into a swamp over the off season. Although the folks who came out were very nice, I spent almost $600 for two visits and my pool was still a green swamp afterwards. My pump and filter were also in bad shape so the pool sat stagnant for a couple of more months after that until I could have them replaced thanks to a different company as Rubber Ducky wouldn’t install equipment I purchased secondhand. Not knocking them for that though. So I had my pump and filter replaced last weekend and began cleaning it this past Monday. Again, this is almost two months later with zero filtering or cleaning. Using liquid chlorine alone (and balancing the pH and CYA beforehand), I have my pool crystal clear in less than a week. It was blue on Tuesday, crystal clear on Wednesday, and swimmable on Thursday. I had to brush and vacuum during that time of course and run the filter basically 24/7 but I didn’t need Rubber Ducky’s super duper $60/bottle chemicals. To their credit, they did tell me from the beginning that one or two visits might not be enough and that they opened a pool earlier this season that required multiple visits and an over $2K final bill. That is honestly absurd although kind of makes sense when you use a product that requires the filter to not run for days at a time in the hopes everything will settle to the bottom and you can just vacuum it out. But wholly unnecessary when liquid chlorine and maybe an algaecide in extreme scenarios is all you actually need if you are dealing with algae. That stuff will kill it and it will either be filtered out (be sure to backwash frequently if you have a sand filter) or eventually settle to the bottom once it dies and then you can vacuum it out to waste as I did. I had very thick algae on the bottom of my pool at the beginning of this past week, and now it is crystal clear, again with only liquid chlorine from a chemical perspective. I didn’t even need an algaecide. Do yourself a favor and visit the Trouble Free Pool website, download their app called PoolMath, and learn about this stuff and just manage it yourself. Although I went through a lot of liquid chlorine to get the pool clean, it was still a fraction of the cost of Rubber Ducky’s super duper “Revive” chemical that is proprietary and so there is no way of knowing what’s even in it. Never put anything in your pool that you don’t know precisely what’s in it. There are certain chemicals and minerals for example that when elevated too high, the only way to get them out of your pool is to drain it or at least partially drain it. In the end, nice folks but I am not a fan of how they do business."
"Unbelievably unprofessional. Rude. Came to service my pool which she said was a “cheap pool” then told me they don’t service those types of pools because they can’t clean them but they did it anyway and did the best they could. She admitted her men should have called her and told her before they serviced it (business error right?). Told her if they knew they couldn’t service my pool they shouldn’t have “tried” and sent me bill after the fact. She then started to say we lied about what kind of pool we have. I told her I didn’t want to be unreasonable, I would pay some of this bill but I wasn’t good with the service and still can’t use my pool. Immediately started yelling and threatening me. Poorly run business. Steer clear!"
"We have been a customer of Rubber Ducky for a few years. I bought a pool and used their monthly pool service. In the beginning, things were great. The pool installer they contracted with was professional. However, the last couple of experiences were a nightmare. This year they came to open my pool. I pumped the water off the cover except for a small amount, from rain the day before. They removed the water & cover, threw in a hose and left. A hose was left disconnected. Water ran down onto my new mulch and sawgrasses for 11 hours before I came home & found it. Washed out 2 plants and turned mulch bed to mud. I called the owner & she was rude, as usual. 2 days later they came back, hooked up the hose and left again, with no water running in the pool. I get a nasty, hateful email from the owner taking no responsibility. She blamed me for not filling the pool. I told her I was not letting them service my pool again. Then, I got a bill for a complete opening even charging me for the trip to connect the hose they left off. Then, a threatening note about sending me to collections if I don't pay it. My husband and I own a construction company and know a little about doing things right! We take no joy in a poor review for another business. Our company has all 5-Star Reviews, and we are proud of it! This pool store needs to improve from the TOP down. We have a pool at our lake house, and never have the problems with the pool company there. 0 Stars Rubber Ducky!"
