"My family's favorite place to camp and ride horses in the Lowcountry by far! WONDERFUL owners--so friendly and helpful. They make you feel like you're an old friend coming home. Trails are amazing!! No boots or shoes required. SO rich in history. Can't say enough good things about it."
"came to reenact from Virginia, with the boys from the 24th south Carolina. the hospitality and kindness given to the reenactors by the event staff was above and beyond anything I could've expected. between the kind people, great food, and fun event, i'll be happy to be back next year."
"Rode the Rooster Run @ Broxton Bridge Dual Sport ride here.. the campground was very nice, plenty of room and well maintained. This place is beautiful.. well organized and felt prepared to host a large event like this."
"Horse rider here. We stayed one night 2 people 2 horses cost 80$ we were charged for Camping, stalls and then a trail usage fee. We were never greeted by anyone. We had to fight spider webs to access the water spigot. There was no fire ring. Absolutely no cell service or wifi. While there are miles and miles of trails they are poorly marked with a lot of signs having fallen off trees leaving you to guess which way to go. The deer flies where pretty bad(not anyone's fault just saying they were) when called about reservations I was never told we had to be out of the woods by 330 because of deer hunters. The terrain is all flat low country(expected it is the low country) and a lot or riding around planted fields.(not fun riding the middle of the day because u can't ride in the evening due to hunting) so if it hadn't cost so much to ride I really would not complain but 80 for one night of camping is pretty steep. Every where else I have camped has either a day fee or a camping fee. There was a couple there with an atv that said they were allowed in the woods and didnt have to pay a trail use fee. It was an hour drive for us to get there and we stayed because we were all packed up and the next choice to camp was over 2 hours away but we won't be back."
"Mark's review in poor taste not withstanding, this a beautiful place. We spent a quiet evening just after Thanksgiving in the Mallard Room, the master suite in the old home. Nice fireplace and interesting surroundings. The bed was great, the breakfast a little sparse but good coffee. Ms. Joetta a charming host. We have made our camping trip reservations for the reenactment of the skirmish at Broxton Bridge the last weekend in February. We plan to spend several days riding our Paso Finos or their trails before the civil war battle begins."
