"NO! NO! NO!Vacationed at ROACH filled Condo 2104-A Salty Turtle, Building B, 5 nights, Sunday 08/13/23 thru Friday 08/18/23. We booked with Krissy at Daufuskie Rental Group (DRG). In July 2021 I stayed in Condo 2201, a wonderful waterfront condo. This condo did not have roaches issues. I didn't use DRG for this visit. Pros & Cons Condo 2104-A Salty Turtle Pros Easy walk to beach Beds are comfortable Except showers, relatively clean inside condo Cons 1 Numerous FLYING small ROACHES, LARGE FLYING Palmetto ROACHES, & OTHER BUGS inside condo in all rooms. Arrived on Sunday, sit luggage in bedrooms. EACH ROOM HAD AT LEAST ONE large, LIVE PALMETTO ROACH. We reached out to Krissy at DGR immediately. Krissy had Sherry & Blaine come out next morning, Monday. They were awesome. Sherry said Hilton Head Pest Control just sprayed entire community & we should only see dead bugs. On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday we were still seeing & killing roaches. At NIGHT when we turned on lights to use restroom ROACHES STATED RUNNING, especially in primary bedroom. We slept with COTTON BALLS in our ears. We were scared roaches would crawl in our ears while sleep. Owner: "Complaint of insects? Any unit located on Daufuskie Island will have the occasional flies and insects due to the nature of the local climate. Our unit is routinely inspected and has pest control applied since we have an annual contract with a pest control company" 2 RODENTS scratching INSIDE WALLS of PRIMARY BEDROOM in middle of night 3 Condo close to TRASH chute 4 No Beach Towels & RUSTED Beach Chairs Monday Sherry unlocked owner's closets & gave us beach towels & new chairs. Property listing doesn’t say “no beach towels”. It says, “Linens are provided". Beach towels are a type of linen. Krissy asked Sherry to get beach towels from other DRG condo rentals if owner didn’t provide any. During my stay in 2021, property owner of condo 2201 provided beach towels. Owner: “DRG properties do not include beach towels for their guests, however Sherry then provided our personal family beach towels immediately for your use.” “Sherry then provided new chars to you immediately.” 5 Condo sits AWAY FROM BEACH 6 Filthy balcony with RODENT droppings 7 ICE MAKER not working properly Krissy had someone bring us two zip lock bags of ice. Thank you. We finally got ice & frig working on setting #2. Owner: “The “as-advertised” refrigerator/freezer is the very same type you would purchase for your home. Ice making speed is typical for a refrigerator of this style and type, and so time to make ice is typical for this style freezer.” 8 TV Remote batteries died on Wednesday Owner: “Were the TV remotes in proper working order during Sherry’s pre-arrival inspection? Not sure how the batteries went dead so quickly? Sherry then made sure all remotes were in working order.” 9 Cracks & gaps in walls of primary BR & bath, entry door, sliding door Again Wednesday we spoke to Krissy about roaches via text & phone. Krissy said someone would be out Thursday between 8-9 a.m. We declined visit because it was at 8 a.m. & we felt spraying Thursday wasn’t going to help us. We complained about roaches Sunday, Monday, & Wednesday. We were leaving Friday morning, what’s the point, 5 days after our original complaint. Krissy asked what she could do to make sure we didn’t write a bad review. I asked her for suggestions, as she knew property owner & we didn't want to insult owner. She said we were the first DRG renters with this owner. So she couldn’t offer any suggestions. She expressed sympathy for us & issues we were having with condo. Thursday after we declined GW Services came to condo & still DID NOT SPRAY FOR ROACHES. HE JUST LOOKED AT ROACHES. Owner: “Sherry responded to your call immediately and contacted our pest control service to come out to inspect the unit, and if necessary, apply pest control. You then declined the inspection? Very sorry but we are not sure how to remedy an alleged situation without having an opportunity to inspect and assess?” Owner responded on Friday."

"I have never stayed in a place I have liked better, and that is the truth. The condo was spacious, the furnishings were of very high quality, each bedroom offered privacy and room to be comfortable, the kitchen featured useful appliances and utensils. The heating/cooling unit worked very well. My only criticism was the dryer was not great, but that was not a serious issue. We loved our stay, and we are already looking at our calendar for a return trip!"

"WOW! Great place! If your family or you are looking for pristine beaches and quiet time spent. This is the spot! Surprised to find such a hidden gem in the USA. The villa was perfect 3bd/3bathroom. The views were phenomenal, the ocean species were fun to see, daily. Beach was never crowded. You legit only have to worry about which side of the beach you want to walk, daily. Go once and you'll get a nice reality check on low country living."
