"We stayed at the Sea Breeze rental in DeBordieu last week and this rental was a nightmare from the beginning. I was notified that not only would there we construction on the beach, but also the roof was being repaired. Both of these emails came when it was too late to get my 50% down payment returned. I have family that has lived within the DeBordieu community for over 20 years and they are beyond embarrassed. They had known that the beach construction and the roof repairs would be taking place since the first of the year. Peace Vacations took full advantage to scam my family out of thousands of dollars just to get this dump of a property rented during construction. Besides the bulldozers working until the small hours of the morning and a roofing crew climbing all over our rental (blaring mariachi music at 9am) there was moldy carpet in the stairwells, we were not notified that this property was NOT handicap acceptable (which we both are), the master windows were stuffed with paper towel to keep out the leaks/bugs, the only window that did open was one in the living room and the grill/tiki bar were closed 3 of the 4 days we were there. Thank goodness I didn't pay the $200 a day for access, which I'm sure Peace Vacations wouldn't have had a problem stealing from me. DeBordieu should be ashamed to have you represent their beautiful community. As humans, you should be ashamed of yourselves for taking advantage of people who work very hard all year just to have a quiet family vacation."
"This was our first vacation at DeBordieu. While we enjoyed the community of DeBordieu, our house was not suitable for renting. Please beware of the rental PORTE MAILLOT. This house should not be rented!!! The entire house was filthy. There were constant bug sightings large and small. Everything in the entire house was dated. The bed coverings were stained and had clearly not been washed in quite some time. We planned to cook several nights during our stay but the kitchen appliances and cookware were not safe for using. We had small children staying in this home and the pickets on the porches and stairs were rotting and falling apart. On the last morning, there was a huge rainstorm and water poured into one of the windows, onto the furniture, and then to the floor. The yard was unkept and overgrown in the back, so it was unusable. This house is a safety hazard and should not be rented until it has been updated and the issues have been taken care of."
"We loved our vacation at DeBordieu. It was a very relaxing time for our family. I would highly recommend Dune Oaks Oasis. It is an amazing home with a lot of southern charm. It had everything we needed right there. It was also very clean. We spent a lot of time relaxing on the huge deck and in the hot tub. The beach was a short walk away and not very crowded. We also drove the golf cart to the beach and to see wildlife. If you want a great vacation, this is a wonderful community and home."
"Our stay at this fabulous house was just perfect! We were in town for a wedding and had a large multigenerational family group renting the house. Not only was the interior of the house gorgeous, the layout was amazing. The main kitchen-dining-living area easily accommodated all of us for large meals and hanging out, and there were numerous spots all over the house (upstairs hang out room, large bedrooms, all the beautiful balconies) to go if someone wanted quiet time alone to read a book or enjoy the view. The beds were extremely comfortable, and there were lots of extra pillows and blankets. The staff at DeBordieu was friendly and helpful, which helped to make the experience wonderful. I highly recommend this house to anyone in a large group looking for a picture perfect vacation!"
"We had 15 in our group and due to the layout and construction of the house, I received the best sleep! The house was walking distance to the beach, which made it very convenient for easy lunch or snack/beverage runs. What I really like though was the neighborhood is very safe and I even felt comfortable allowing my 6 and 8 year old children explore the area alone."
