TownePlace Suites by Marriott Charleston Mt. Pleasant

"Stayed here on a business trip and the king bed literally caved in. I already suffer from not the best back and the king bed was slanted all the way around. I brought it to the front desks attention and was told a manager would be in contact and I have yet to hear a word. Not what I’d expect as a Marriott rewards member. 2nd bad experience with Marriott in the past 6 months."

"Called to book. They offer a military discount. I asked what's the price for a room it was 199, I asked do you offer military discount and they said sure but sometimes it's higher, they quoted me 250. How is a discount more than regular price??"

"Really wished the hotel would install signs for the Tesla chargers parking spots that say “Parking for electric vehicles only” we were disappointed to see the only two Tesla charging spots taken up by gas cars upon arrival. Had to keep checking on the spots during our stay to see if anyone had moved to then plug in and charge. If signs cannot be installed, perhaps put cones in place blocking the spots with a sign on it that says to call the front desk to park in Tesla Parking. Hotel should be more mindful of guest that mainly book the hotel because it offers Tesla chargers and travel long ways for that convenience."

"One of the worst experiences I’ve had at a Marriott property in as long as I can remember. The first night the room above me sounded like they were dancing on the ceiling way into the early morning. This was after a roach cruised by me while I was getting ready for bed. The next morning I let the lady at the front desk know about the crawling critter who visited me last night. She immediately offered to have the mgr adjust my bill. I let her know that wasn’t necessary but I would like to have the room sprayed and cleaned. She said know problem. Then I left for the day. When I arrived back to the room just before midnight, I stopped at the front desk do have a new key made for my room. The gentleman working the front desk said his system was rebooting for the overnight batch and it would be two to three minutes, so I said no problem and took a seat in the lobby. Ten minutes later I asked if we were up and running yet, he looked over at me in somewhat of a disgusting way and said a few more minutes. Nothing like over promising and under delivering. I thanked him for the key and headed to my room. When I walked into the room I found it hadn’t be touched all day. Not cleaned one bit and the dead roach was right where he died from the night before. When called the front desk the same gentleman told me my expectations to have room cleaned was out of line bc they only do it every three days unless requested. Obviously it was requested for obvious reasons, and the request was denied. Very disappointing! Not what a lifetime Platinum Elite or anyone for that matter should expect. I would not recommend this Marriott property."

"The full kitchen option is the reason we booked this place since we cooked our meals and everything worked well. The front desk associates were friendly and accommodating. Download Marriott app for easy check in and to send housekeeping requests. Complementary breakfast was not bad, had warm items options, fresh fruit and cereal bar. Wish they had a waffle maker. It was nice to have an access to tea/coffee bar throughout the day! I think it is a very nice hotel if you are traveling on a budget. Also the beach is only 15-minute drive away. It felt safe and clean."
