"Well worth a visit. Very nice to find a site that preserves the history of the Spanish-American War on the mainland U.S.A. There is a large wooded area that has been preserved around the fort and there is beach access here. There is a large, modern picnic pavilion and a visitors center/ museum that is a must to see when it is open. The volunteers do a great job, are knowledgeable, and kind."
