Reviews of J & G Truck Repair LLC
"SCAMMMERS.... called them to fix bearings. They don't have techs that work for them. They are third party. They tried to convince me the race was welded on and they couldn't get it off. Sent two techs out cost me so much time.Second tech got it right off. They tried to upcharge me because they sent two techs out. I paid them what they quoted and they called back asking for more money right after. The tech didn't tighten up the hub. I'm now replacing everything again. I'm pretty sure the woman that I was working with was drunk."
"AVOID!!!!!!! SCAMMERS! They are crackheads that know nothing about trucks or business. Please look at all the reviews before using. It's exactly what you see. DON"T USE. You've been warned"
"SCAMMERS! SCAMMERS! SCAMMERS! SCAMMERS! Avoid at all cost because it will COST YOU! I tried to get a belt replaced. Very simple job nothing major. I asked them also to change the other belt now that we are there doing the job. Well, They quoted me 375.00 to go out there and change it. They sent a mechanic to the location after I told them the year make and model with the Vin#. You think that if you have to change the belts you would come prepared. Long story short. They get to my truck to tell me they had to drive to Charleston SC with is an hour there and an hour back to then spend 3 hours trying to install the belts and then CHARGE me $1000.00 for the job....And wait it gets better. 30min and my truck still hasn't left the same spot and one of the belt comes of. I call Mellissa back to let her know that the first mechanic put the belt on wrong. They sent another tech to look at it to try to tell me my compressor is broken. LOL! I told the other tech to put the same belt on and came off. It worked prefectly. Except the belt has a rip on it now. I called J&G Truck back to asked them to put a new belt on my truck and forget about getting a word in with Melissa (You CAN"T ARGUE WITH A CRACK HEAD )They pretty much hang up on me. Then I blowup there phone and blocked my phone. SCAMMERS! SCAMMERA! SCAMMERS! SCAMMERS! SCAMMERS!"
"Hello people, This is my very first time dropping a review, sadly it is not complimentary, however I feel like I must warn others of what's possible to expect. First of all, I'd suggest avoiding that place (J & G Truck Repair) at all terms, but if you have no other choice but to take your truck there you better be ready to waste time and money. Around 6 in the am on Saturday 3rd, 2022 One of my drivers had a blown wheel seal on the trailer's axle, a broken hub cap, and oil all over, that happened right after crossing the Santee River bridge on southbound I-95 SC at the rest area there he pulled in. I called J & G Truck Repair which was about 19 miles away from their shop. Finally, a tech came and took the wheels, break shoes, and hub apart and chained up the axle, and had the driver drives to their lot for the repair. They did told me that they would not be able to do any type of repair because it was a weekend holiday (Labor Day) they won't reopen until Tuesday which is understandable. Tuesday cones, I called and spoke with the owner Gary around 9 am trying to get an estimated time of when they'll be done, he informed me that "they are trying to get the main nuts that held the bearing off but it kind of welded with the axle so call me later this evening so I can give you an accurate eta of when the trailer will be read" Gary said. Long story short, on Wednesday late morning I tried to get in touch with them unsuccessful for over 3 hours using 3 different phone numbers that they provided me. My driver had gone home to Florida that Saturday. On Thursday early morning I had him went back to get the trailer when he got there he found the trailer in the same condition as when he left it. We took the trailer to the Pilot truck stop and called another roadside service guy who came and fixed it. From the time when I called him, he came and get parts and completed the job, it took him 6 and half hours. That axle nuts Gary claimed that was kind of welded to the axle and couldn't be taken off, the new tech guy pulled it out in less than a minute. Gay is not an honest person he is simply after your money. Gary charged me unfairly $850 just to send a technician to take the wheel apart and chained up the axle. We had to buy our own chain, he got upset when I decided to take the trailer elsewhere so ordered his tech to take his chain off the acle. That is brutal, this guy is arrogant he cannot keep a simple conversation without being escalated. I spoke with the co-owner of the shop about the charge she realized that the amount of money Gary charged was not fair then she took $200 off. Thank God for the other road service guy who only charges me $625 for the job. Be very careful out there guys, a lot of people will take advantage of trouble situations and make them worst."
"!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID !!! Scammers! Just read all reviews before calling them. We very rarely leave reviews for other businesses, but this place needs to be avoid at any cost. They should not exist. First, If it happen to break down around the area. Call road service from at least 50 miles outside this area! The other shops are no better. Second, this shop is the worst. Do not go there. It will be your worst nightmare. I have no words to describe the experience! After speaking with them about getting us in at 8:00am, Gary (the owner) promised that they can take us right in and they should be done by noon. All they had to do is replace one of the trailer’s airbags. My truck got there at 10:00 am and was done at Midnight. Non stop lie after lie. Then they stop answering calls. My biggest problem was they remove the old airbag and then they stopped working on it and got on to other jobs. They kept us hostage. And all they had to say in the morning was, sorry we are busy, we can’t promise anything. When Mellisa called me to pay the bill she starts making numbers up and just throws $1500 for the labor only (We provided the parts). After me questioning the high price, she just cut it down to $750. For a job that takes no more than 1.5hrs. Oh, I forgot to mention she was high as a kite. She sounded exactly like a drug addict asking you for some change at the gas station at a sketchy neighborhood. My driver also said she was having a bud light while preparing the invoice. By the way they don’t even have lights in the shop. The mechanic uses forehead flashlight… (speechless) Bottom line is, if you want to be a part of a horror movie you must go there."
