"I walked the Quail Trail every time I’ve been. I love it. Lots of pines, then an open field, along the river, then back. Very quiet and peaceful and saw several birds. They do controlled burns pretty often and we got to see one of them!"
"If you want to see a real wild area with wild creatures including alligators this is where you can find them. Tread carefully. I almost stepped on a small alligator on the trail. Luckily it froze and I was able to cautiously snap a few photos. There were also turtles and herons. A good walking trail with no mud. Highly recommend this as an additional place attached to Magnolia plantation. Worth the extra fee."
"Fabulous hike through a remote, peaceful area of South Carolina. Flat terrain with expansive views all around for much of the hike. I was the only person there for a few hours on a Sunday morning. The road in and out is a little bumpy and quite narrow but if you drive slowly you'll be fine."
"Got to join my son on his 7th grade field trip and the experience was such a nice treat! As an herbalist, it was awesome to hear how the staff and volunteers dedicate their time to creating and maintaining a sustainable ecosystem for so many creatures. Everyone was nice, knowledgeable and you could tell they really enjoy what they do. I’ll definitely be back!"
"I have only taken the one trail (Quail Trail) that takes you to the bluff. It was fun…. Except for getting caught in the rain. Rough terrain. Cool view off the bluff of Savannah River. Definitely want to see the other trails. There is also a pond at the entrance with built in binoculars."
