"It was nice to get away to the beach, but besides that we had a tough time at this resort! When we got to the entrance of Fripp Island, we were denied entry because our welcome packet could not be found. The welcome packet is what the resort gives to security at the front gate, allowing you access. The woman at the gate was extremely rude and said I'd have to call reservations for the packet. With a crying baby in the backseat and no where to go, we were extremely frustrated. We came back an hour later after sitting in the car and the packet was finally there. No excuse for the tardiness, as we checked in at 6:00pm. We then arrived at our rental, the Tennis Villa, and were quite disappointed. A very large poisonous spider greeted us on the couch (brown recluse), and the bathrooms were gross (lots of sand and hair). This unit definitely needed fresh paint and smelled like mold. For a hefty price, we weren't impressed. After checking out the place, we went to get dinner. Little did we know, we needed key cards to exchange for restaurant access. To get key cards, you have to drive to the visitor services building and check in (for a second time!). The whole process was very complicated. Why aren't key cards granted upon main gate entry to the resort? We finally had dinner around 8pm and slept with lights on to avoid the MIA poisonous spider. To top things off, the next day we went to the Cabana Club for lunch and we were charged twice. The club denied the second charge despite us showing them the transactions, so we had to dispute with AMEX. Strange vacation, we would not go back! Spend your money at a nice hotel on the beach with food and housekeeping!"
"Our group stayed at 778 Marlin Dr this past weekend for the Pledge The Pink event. If it were possible, I would give less than 1 star! The house was FILTHY. Dust was everywhere, mold throughout the house, dead and live bugs were present as well. We contacted rental property on several occasions. Cleaning crew did not clean as was promised to rectify the situation. It took 2 visits to get the house fairly clean. On the first night, we bought supplies to try and clean it ourselves. 3 of the toilets did not work properly and it took 3 visits for them to be prepared. The furniture was old and worn (see photo evidence) The office offered to move us to another house but is was 2 days into our stay and would have been too small for our large group. To make it worse, we were traveling with a toddler. If there were hotels on the island, we would have checked out. This entire nightmare put a damper on what should have been a great weekend. I would HIGHLY advise against renting from this company."
"We love Fripp and have visited many times. Will definitely return, but doubt we will use Fripp Island Resort Rentals again. The beach, location, and community are 5 stars. Pools and amenities are 4 stars. Fripp Island Resort Rentals 1 star. Unit at 25 Davis Love Drive had roaches (beyond what you typically expect), issues with cleanliness on arrival, leaky toilet, overflowing garbage outside, broken or worn out furnishings, and mildew in the freezer/refrigerator that went completely unresolved all week. The house is literally rotting and in need of repair. Pics on website are from YEARS ago. Reviews are not posted on the FIR site, so adding it here."
"We had the best family experience at Fripp Island Resort! The recreation staff was so friendly. Cassady and Caroline were amazing. The kids loved the animals at the nature center. They had an unique and memorable pirate ship escape room, perfect for families!"
"Gorgeous views! Reminded me of an old school family beach vacation. We stayed in the sun suites which was a very short walk to two different pools, Ice cream, and food. (Get the nachos!) There we’re plenty of newer more modern homes and we enjoyed driving around and looking at the fancy beach houses. There was an amazing pirate ship escape room activity happening during our stay and it was fantastic! Wonderful place for family’s and couples of all ages."
