"NO STARS (if that was a choice) - As a home owner in Folly and rent to tenants - this is the worst management company to work with. After a long tedious road of them managing our beach house, we dropped them due to negligent work ethic and services. After the drop they told us we needed to fix up railings, decking, etc. I understand the safety of rental users but Fred Holland had come out o fix these particular issues in the past 2-3 months due to the same issue. How did they miss these issues they have painted upon us? They didn't notice the other issue? This is what we pay this company for as we don't live in the area. The funny thing is they didn't use a permit to fix these issues in the past and now need one. This seems like a blow to me as we have decided to go with another company. STAY AWAY! This company is totally flakey, corrupt and out to get you if you're not utilizing their services. All in all they have cancelled our September 2023 rentals for tenants that paid good money and seems like a blow to us as we have decided to go with another company. Seems fishy, corrupt and out to get you. We had no communication of this process until we decided to go with another management company. This is not good practice and should be noticed and told to all. I am not understanding how you missed a big step in your contacting steps when other decking was fixed in the past months."

"We’ve rented different properties from Holland for 10 years….and been visiting FB for 20. Love the laid back atmosphere and proximity to Charleston. FH team always helpful, but they do get busy in high seasons. We like to rent in May, February or September. Great selection of properties."

"We rented 1639 East Ashley Ave from Holland Realty for a family reunion. Upon arrival to the home we found it to be very dirty and a guest found a 3 inch long centipede in a bed. The air conditioners had mildew/mold in them and a bunk bed was unsafe to use due to loose parts. One family would not stay in the home due to the uncleanliness and bug. They rented a condo off of the beach. On the 4th day, another family found dead bugs of different varieties in their bed. They also had an 8 month old staying in the room. We collected the bugs with tape and gave them to the person in charge of rentals. An Exterminator was called who stated that he found no live bugs and we were moved to another home. Regardless, the home we rented at $8000+ for the week was not prepared for renters. The outside stairs are in very bad shape and not safe for older individuals. Emails have been sent to Holland Realty from different family members in regards to the home and our stay and no one has had the courtesy to respond to our emails. After 30 summer reunions on Folly Beach we have decided that this would be our last one."

"When we arrived my husband shouted “ I LOVE this place” because the first thing you see is the views of the beach. The views from the master bedroom is even better. We were sad to leave but as we said goodbye to the perfect place for us my husband’s departing words were will be back to do this again very soon! Having easy access to the beach and an outdoor wash station to shower and clean our feet was great because the sand did not track on the deck or in the house. Speaking of the deck, it was our favorite place to start our morning and end our day! A huge thanks to Anna Spearman West for making our week so very special and so memorable!"

"DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. We've been coming to Folly for years and this was our first time renting with Fred Holland and will be our last. First, we rented the property at 314 W Hudson. When booking, I asked the staff member if the fireplaces worked, as it was the week after Christmas and cold. I was assured they did, only to arrive at the property to see signs above the fireplaces clearly stating that the fireplaces were inoperable. Second, I never received a rental agreement for our booking. Not even when I asked for one during our stay. Finally, we left two expensive and beloved Patagonia jackets in the home after leaving. I called and spoke with Patrick TWICE, who, both times, assured me he would go over that day to the property and check. Having not heard back from Patrick either time, I called and left a message. No response. I finally got ahold of another staff member a few days later, who did not go over to check the property because it was occupied, but presumably called the cleaning staff who said they didn't find anything. I do not believe this for a second, as we are positive we left them hanging on the hook behind the door. I'm sure someone from Fred Holland is running around Folly Beach in our jackets. I won't even comment on the home we rented. This company is horrible. Avoid renting from them at all cost!"
